Call me shallow but I will absolutely steer clear of this resturant just because DVOR likes and promotes them.

Many people enjoyed Dolce Vita.  The place was always full.  We certainly won't miss you if you don't come to the restaurant -- it is YOUR LOSS not ours.

Add this to the list of stupid statements made by you.  First off, who are you to say that Mr. Loren wont miss my business when he is sucking wind?  If the place was always full then he would have money....  If he was smart he would steer clear or you.

The fact is that the place was always busy.  The restaurant only closed because the landlord chose to sell the building.

You and your ilk have spent the past 8 1/2 months attacking a private businessperson.  I am pretty sure that he doesn't want you or your ilk anywhere near his restaurant.  There are more than enough DECENT, RESPECTABLE, SANE and INTELLIGENT people around who will support his business.

Ok, if you say so, but then why is he publicly begging for help? Constantly running fundraisers online to solicit funds (with little or no response) - just people, like you, with heartfelt sentiments.  Sentiment doesn't pay the bills - and it really doesn't make a meal worth eating.

I'll pass too - even though I enjoy cutting a rug and the music, I'll stay home, order a pizza and live it up with friends, a beer, and my mp3 player.

They don't call me Rusty for nothing ya know

What your not seeing is that most are attacking this businessman due to the fact that you have a relationship with him.  If he made it public that he has no associations with you then I would probably go.  I am sure he only associates with you because you buy a lot of food.  If he only knew how much you hurt his business by running your trap!

I would love to eat there but if the man-boy was there with his B.O. it would run the meal

Sorry, as much as I dislike the wannabe a** monkey himself, I would NEVER allow myself to be influenced in any decision becuase he does or does not endorse a business in some form. Take Uncle Sam's as a great example of him bad mouthing a business becuase of perceived political/rude treatment....place is award winner, and the pink pig place he likes is rated as an also ran. He makes the wildest claims about everything in the world and has been shown to be more a bag of wind than authority or anything else.

I would suggest that anyone wanting to try Randy's place after he opens should do so without regard for the blabberings of the wannabe loser, and make your own opinions of the place, the food, etc.  After he opens, maybe we should start a new rating thread to give people our opinions about the place, etc.

How do people have money for these materials for a restaurant but don't pay their outstanding taxes?

Actually, I have NEVER badmouthed his business -- just said that my family will no longer do business with him due to the way he insulted a family member.  It has absolutely NOTHING to do with politics.  In fact, I don't believe that he was aware that the person that he was insulting was even related to me.

The fact is that there are a number of excellent places run by small businesspersons in the area from which to purchase candy and confections.  The peppermint pig just happens to be a family Christmas tradition and for that we will take the drive once a year up to Route 9 in Clifton Park.

I agree with you.  Small businesspersons invest a lot more than just their money into their ventures -- they invest their heart, soul and energy.    That is why my family will go out of its way to support the local small businesses - like Sal's Market or Gabriel's rather than the larger chain stores.

They know you smell bad too.oo.

I am looking forward to seeing the place open. I am all for him doing well, especially since he isn't on taxpayer funding

But GB, big sums of unpaid taxes, going back years, so, in a sense he is doing stuff off the taxpayers, he spends his money on his business instead of paying the taxes he owes
