Despite any of the problems or issues facing our town, I am 1,000 % certain that

Rotterdam is still a great place to live, to work, and to do business.

It is always easy to "armchair quarterback" any situation -- the police have a tough job ... and the
job of police chief is no "walk in the park".    If the naysayers think these jobs are so easy  .. they
should volunteer their time to do them.

That is why we pay him more than any chief in the region because it is so hard. Very difficult deciding which of the chosen few get promoted over the guys who deserve it, and of course which employees to fire who live outside the town (even though this administration made a career out of hiring people from outside the town.)

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Does anyone know if there was an announcement in the People's Gazette this morning about the budget hearing?  The town board last night stated that they would have it in the paper today that there is going to be a public hearing on the budget on Thursday, November 4th, at 7:00 at town hall.  It was supposed to be announced as soon as possible, as the date that they had on the paper to announce it in the paper was October 30th, which would have only been 5 days notice, as opposed to the 10 day notice that another part of the resolution called for.

I can confirm there is NO legal notice regarding the Town of Rotterdam in today's edition of the Daily Gazette (October 28, 2010).

It was stated last night that the Gazette would be contacted TODAY to place the notice ... it was too late to
put a legal notice in for today's edition.      This gives 5 days notice .. which is the legally required notice ..
the 10 day reference was a typo --and the fact that it was a typo was acknowledged last night.

what is the rush

other towns have a public hearing on the 11th

Sound like Del Gallo and Godlewski are hiding something - like putting away funds for the 5.5 million Hamburg St upgrades and the termination of the "Typist" in DPW  not the "Typist" in the Supervisors office,  a raise for our police chief who already makes over 100k has a town car and paid gas. a 50% paycut for the assessor who has a "contract filled with the "town clerk" who just happened to be a "Notary" when she acknowledged receipt of the contract.

Will Greiesmer's(sp) "riding buddy" from the supervisors office will be headed to work in his office or stay in Del Gallo's office??

and did you see the other legals today

our clerks are well above the others listed and our town clerk can't find her way to the office

this weekend i will post budget info beginning late saturday

but this budget is still up 8% and change with handouts - Frank made "Big" cuts

will Martin, Dileva, and Parisi have the votes to not put the town at risk for legal challenges that could be brought forth based in this budget!!!!

It will be interesting to see if rotterdam will have a $120K budget line for rems in the 2011 budget.

budget up

2010 adopted                     $13,712,723.00
2010 amended                   $13,907,788.10
2011 requested                  $14,679,288.00
tentative as of early sept    $14,884,188.00

as of 10/27/2010
2010 amended                   $13,917,771.10
2011 Preliminary                 $14,090,028.00

looking at the numbers as of 10/27/2010 i find a tax increase of 8% very very interesting as 2010 vs 2011
is only  172,256.90 with 2 months to go - the slush fund in the current budget i.e left over monies could cover the difference

also watch the "snow budget" line !!!!!   it will vanish like newly falling snow on a hot summers day

I smell a dead rat in the room and i think they are going to cover the smell with ------ mothballs

watch out CSEA  you will be snowballed into thinking there is no cash out there and the blame will be put on your organization

One more you missed Tip:  Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics 2010=$0 and in the 2011 budget $1750.
Where are Diane Marco, Tony Jesenski and Quenn of the Mothballs when you need them to say "the town cannot afford it"?

$1500 for the Deputy Supervisor and $1750 for a Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics is not out of line.
There are other ways to cut spending  -- ways that would make more sense and have a greater impact.

Except when the republicans do it then all the democraps show up at town hall beating their breasts and screaming about how unjust it is to spend the taxpayer $ so "frivolously!"

You are the most obvious of phonies.
