Why is Eunice paid 50K to not show up? Why are there line items getting more money than the department requested? Why does the chief get his full asking amount yet the officers get the shaft? Isn't the police union contract being renegotiated as we speak? Do we really know what the cops will be paid? Why are we cutting jobs and not services?  Why are we not trying to cut downon paper usage? Why can't the supervisor answer a single question about his budget and why didn't he require the comptroller and department heads to attend? This is a joke and a half!

Because he "needs to look into it," which is the same answer he's given since day one.  This board only had 2 people on it who have been holding the majority accountable.  Hopefully Wayne Calder will follow along the same lines and back up Ms. DiLeva in any fights, or 2011 is going to be a very long year.

The progressives want Nicki gone because she thinks for herself and won't become another " yes Mr Supervisor".

You know, it's funny.  I may be one of the only people who are on here that is reading what other people think AND am willing and able to step up to the microphone and let my feelings (and that of others at points, while I may not state that) be known.  I don't "whine beg cry and complain about everything that the goverment does."  I may complain that they have specific laws that they will not enforce.  I may bring up facts that people may just wish are swept under the rug.  At least you, Alan, have taken the step to make your name known (as long as this is your real name, not saying it isn't, but it could be anybody with the name) and maybe soon you'll take the next step and make your voice known not only on this website, but actually bring your views to the podium.  If I decide to run for office at some point, I would not be "whining and complaining," I would be listening to what the townspeople say, you know, like the several people who stood up last night at the town board meeting.  I would also do my best to have an answer at the time of the meeting, not the same as we have had since the current administration has been elected to office, with the choir of "we'll have to look into that and get back to you."  I would listen to the residents and see what they suggest and see about bringing up those same issues at a future meeting.

Kevin does more than most of the rotterdamians. At least he is informed and forms his own opinions. At least he gets up to speak at these meetings either in support or to question an issue!!!

I'm confused here.....Longo WAS the code enforcer, but no longer is....correct? So there is no need for a code enforcer salary in the budget.......right???

However.......who the hell is the code enforcer that has been checking out the 'racetrack'?

The person checking out the racetrack has the title of "building inspector" not "code enforcement office".

Which seats are up for re-election in 2011?

The town will have elections for  Supervisor, Highway Superintendent, and 2 Council members  in 2011 ... and
I believe for one of the 2 Town Justices.

The two council seats ups for a vote are the one currently held by Ms. Dileva and the one held by Mr. Parisi
through December 31, 2010 and which Mr. Calder will assume on January 1, 2011.

Thank you.  I will say now that if Ms. DiLeva runs for re-election, she will have my full support.  If Mr. Calder runs for re-election, well, I'll have to see how he goes this year, since we heard NOTHING about his stances on any single issue before people blindly elected him.

Kevin, he spoke at Town Board meetings on several issues -- he went door-to-door to meet the voters and
would have happily answered your questions.    The people weren't blind when they voted for him.

Well Nikki in office certainly stumps me.  She has nothing to offer.  Her conservative stance is just another way to bully people.  She is not a Democrat in my book.
