Schenectady - behind the times.  Casino gambling has been declining around the country for years.  The only way this would be a game changer in Schenectady is if there was a sport book inside.  I believe casino sports gambling is not allowed in NY.  All gambling can be done on-line.  The millenials will gamble online.  There will be a short term bump in economic activity, but once it levels out, the cost for the city to support it will exceed the overall economic benefit.  Why?  Because once the city see's the revenue increase, every city employee union will jack their pay and suck up all the revenue.  It will never result in lower taxes.

Schoharie County had one entry and is predominantly a republican county.
Schenectady County had one entry is predominantly a democratic county.

Members of the Casino Board are Cuomo hacks... when you add it up, we should have known all along.

We have talked to 'at least' 5 folks today who live in the county....and come springtime, there homes are going up for sale. however, they fear they are too late. they think that the casino will make home values go down. HOWEVER.....we have also talked to folks who are saying their property values just doubled. so who the hell knows ....that's to be seen.
One thing is for sure....the construction industry will see a major BOOM!!!!



It is what it is folks.........Schenectady is now a run-a-way train....agree with the direction it's going in or not.....no sense bit@hing about it anymore.........it is what it is and will be for decades to come.

Security are ex military, retired cops. A paramedic team is on call 24 7.

Facilities/maintanence  knowledge of construcion trades

Hospitality managment that is probably graduating from SCC

Sure the valet wont be like vegas but even vegas isnt like vegas

people that are retired can supplement thir incom. Young people in assist managment can spring board to other gaming propertie.

Slot techicians are in demand everywhere

Maybe the local bakeries will suppy some  bread for the steakhouse  ( there is always a steakhouse )

And dont forget the IT department and survalience.

Casinos always hire local- thats part of the deal . Sure  their managment form other properties will get it set up
