Goes to show you how valuable a food critic endorsement by DVOR REALLY IS!!!! You can rely on his food critic endorsements as much as the rest of his factual claims

Right. Every place DVR supports closes or goes for the taxpayer schmear. This will reopen the same time the Big Hose or Gillette House does. Plenty of much better Italian places around like Brandon's.

Can't speak to the quality of Dolce Vita, but definately BRANDON's is top notch...really enjoyed our meal there before Xmas. No hesitation to go back and/or recommend it to others.

Agree with Patches here. Two Italian restaurants relocating?

Gillen will get one of them into Cornells when the Gazetto owner realizes that paying a million in back taxes isn't quite a sound business venture.

One will move into Cornells and the other will get millions to renovate the Sawmill into another black hole funded with taxpayer money.

The Plex funded Perrecas expansion and now they'll move two competitors at Maria's doorstep. Classy!

Just another 'relocation' at the taxpayer's expense that the Metroplex/Ray Gillen/Gazetto will try to pass off as job creation - NOT!!

You folks don't even know the FACTS -- yet you post a bunch of libelous/slanderous crap.

And again -- if you hate this area so much -- NO ONE IS ASKING YOU TO STAY.   Do us all a favor
and take your incessant lies and constant negativism down the road to some other place.

So tell us the "facts."   Tell us how many NEW jobs were created in Schdy.   NO, you do NOT include the jobs that were MOVED from one stret to another and NOT the jobs that were moved from one city to another.   Of course, do NOT include jobs that an out of state business, e.g., Shop Rite, merely becuase a business initiates the idea of returning to this area becuae THAT does NOT constitute jobs "created" by the dem socialists.

Prove to us that you have the facts, provde to us that you do not lie, provide the proof, via links to official sources, that support the statements you make on these boards.  Hell, DV, you have not even provided one shred of proof that the county taxes are lower/as low as they were in the 1950's as you have stated is the case - provide us the proof DV, can you do that?   Of course not because YOU are the one with the incessant LIES.    Truths can be proven, you NEVER provide proof via official sources, therefore you are the one telling lies.

Oh, and if you choose to compare the tax RATE back in the 50's with the tax RATE today, as a justification for the "lowest since the 50's", well, I trust you will include the equalization rate, the RAR, and the UPI in your explanation.   Obviously you will not include those items because you don't even know what they are, and you will will not even respond to comparing county taxes today vs 1950's because you know dang well the taxes today are way far greater than they ever were, and there is NOTHING that you can offer to show that the county portion of property tax bills is going down or even just staying the same as last year.

In all fairness, I'd consider those in the "created" column - they moved out a VERY long time ago .. so, IMHO, they count.

But on the other points, as usual, you're dead on!

Oh MT, let me ask you on that point, are you implying the government "created" the jobs (Shop Rite) either the return or in the past?   Or am I overlooking something in your working.   My interpretation of the government creating jobs (private sector jobs) is when the government approaches business to say "come, we'll give you tax exemptions" or business bascially bribes govt "we'll open, bring jobs, you give us tax money).

I want to see what jobs were created exclusively by business, where business doesnot derive any taxpayer subsidized benefit.   I want to see businesses that seek out location on their own, stand on their own two feet to survive and exist like all the financially sturggling homeowners, where business aplies for permits just like homeowners, are subject to the same coes and inspection rules, pay the same fees, and pay 100% of their taxes.   How many jobs were created in that manner?  And further, what do they pay?  Provide benefits?   Provide pensions?

It is not the responsibility of government to create jobs
