The Nayboobs wish to destroy every ounce of vigor that this economy has

And since the Democratic leadership Team has taken to restoring FAITH in our once fragile economy -- the criminal Nayboobs have been at it night and day - trying to rip it apart -- thankfully they have not succeeded thus far and hopefully they never will.

LDC closed because there are too many better Italian options around. A successful place does not close and than look around for another cheaper site. The Las Vegas shtick did not wear well and when the partners left-that's all folks. Go to Brandon's now open on Chrysler Ave for much better fare without the time warp floor show.

So does this mean that they won't be receiving a lucrative tax paid 'relocate' package from the Metroplex??

It means that some other resturant will get a big bump in sales when DVR relocates his FAT AZZ in their place rather than Dolce.

HOLY CRAP...a "family owned" private business has a new location but needs $15k for renovations so is asking patrons to contribute their money to do this in return for some freebies and their names on a plaque?!?!?!?
Does that mean they can't get bank loan to do it?
Does it mean if they don't get the $15k by FEB 16 that they won't open a new location?

Maybe this has been done before, but I have never seen it.

Might be interesting concept versus METRO money...but wonder if he tried them for cash!

I would think that this is somewhat of an embarrassment to other resturant owners who have done it on their own or with the help

of friends and family and without a  "FANFARE".

Did he pay his back taxes.....cannot get a loan because of high debt???.....

Canvassing the community when everyone is having a hard time in this econom ???

WOW!! I never heard of private businesses asking the public for help to their relocation, development, financial support accept via the Metroplex!!!

With this said.....as long as the taxpayers aren't being 'forced' via the METROPLEX to support private business, I don't really see an issue with this. A bit strange to say the least........but at least the taxpayers in this case have a choice....unlike with the METROPLEX!!!

A few questions tho......if they don't reach their $15K...do the contributors get their $$$ back? Do the contributors have the right to see 'the books' before they invest their money? Because that is exactly what these contributors are doing.....they are investing their private money into a business based on past performance....yes? We just may have $15K that we are willing to invest....but we need to see the books first!!! The 'real' books!!

In either case, it appears that either the METROPLEX is not willing to support Dolce Vita....OR.....Dolce Vita isn't accepting it.

It's interesting that they're going this way....................most of the Kickstarter fund raising I've seen were concerned with the Arts.............my nephew in Baltimore has had 2.................one to raise money in support a CD recording (didn't reach his goal) and one to fund Mobtown Modern, a musical performance series he founded (reached his goal and beyond).............also recall YNN's Kate Welshofer had one to benefit Pancreatic Cancer reseacrh..............never seen one like this though................

I would hope the money is put into an escrow account to ensure the ability recover if $15k not reached.
As for looking at books, etc., this is NOT AN INVESTMENT.....IT'S A DONATION!  They receive no return on their money, only name on a plaque ond some freebies like appetizers, etc. for a specific period of time.

It's a crap shoot in my opinion.  If they get the $15k and 6mths down the road they shutter the place, take all your freebies and you know where you can put them. Personally, if he is asking for money I question his financial status (assumption is, short on cash and banks won't support the $15k need).  Strapped for money now....must be business was not great or mismangagement, so what is going to change....a bigger dance floor and stage is not going to do it!  ...either way a donation would be throwing money away and an investment would be suspect at best.
