The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

DV - there's an easy way to prove your credibility.

If you know where it is going to open, give everyone two sequential numbers in the street address.

E.g, if 272 Main Street, just tell everyone "72" are two numbers in order of the street address.

When it becomes public information, you'll be vindicated.

I sure hope Dolce Vita reopens. The city doesn't need another failed business. They employ folks and contribute to the taxbase. Folks are just going to wait and see if they reopen using their own resources or if they will need government assistance to do so.

Like smokey says....businesses fail for a number of reasons. But a 'government prop-up' is clearly not the answer!! OBVIOUSLY!!

Remember....more than half of the city is on welfare in some fashion. The other 'less than half' are overburdened with out of control taxes and fees. There are few if any schenectadians that can support 'any' business in schenectady.

Perhaps Dolce Vita may want to venture out of the county and entertain the idea of moving to Colonie, Loudonville, Guilderland?

The FACT is that the restaurant did NOT fail.   Schenectadians and others loved and supported it.   And we are patiently awaiting its promised reopening in a new location.

Sure you are....after taxes and other expenses are paid.....and maybe the failure was led to not really running the place

but concentrating on the cabaret aspect...and not really running it the way it should have been....that business is a hands on and

keeping track of income/expenses frugally....also, making sure that anyone behind the bar is honest, as well as the cashier...

It is a hard business and tiring besides....not just signing and tinkling the ivories....

running a resturant successfully will then lead to greetings at the door and making sure the food is ok....

THEN after years of hard work.....the person can sit back and relax ....

You ask any retired or now working owner of a resturant....nothing can be taken for granted....long hours....and

dedication for success.....that means paying your bills and not squandering or trying evade responsibility..

there's more but who can say better than someone who has had a resturant and not just heresay or being friends as a customer.

I am hoping that they do a tribute to Perry Como, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra when they reopen.

He must be racist because when people mention the Rat Pack Perry Como is not used in place of Sammy Davis.
