Federal authorities arrested Wolf, 52 years old, on Wednesday at a truck stop in Livingston after Wolf paid an undercover agent $725 for a Saiga-12, fully-automatic shotgun with a shortened barrel. The court document states that Wolf was told that his "supplier" was a Class III dealer and had converted the firearm from semi-automatic to full-automatic. Wolf is known to several Montana law enforcement agencies as an "anti-government organizer."
Like many of these so-called "patriots," Wolf had a BlogTalkRadio show he used to spread his particular brand of paranoia from time to time, like when he was helping to organize "Operation American Spring" last year. The documents say Wolf expressed his desire to obtain a Russian fully-automatic shotgun during a meeting with the confidential source and an undercover FBI agent on January 25, 2015. He stated, "Like I said, the purpose of the gun is not to go hunting with. It's to clean house."

Agents say Wolf repeatedly detailed his desire to use a flamethrower against law enforcement officers because it would be an effect method to neutralize officers wearing body armor. A recent survey of law enforcement agencies nationwide found that police consider right-wing attacks like last week's mass shooting at a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina to be a greater threat than Islamic extremism.
The survey, conducted last year by Kurzman and David Shanzer of Duke University found that 74 percent of law enforcement agencies ranked anti-government extremism among the top three terror threats they faced.
By contrast, threats linked to groups like al-Qaeda registered at that same level among only 39 percent of the 382 agencies surveyed.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Georgia “sovereign citizen” who twice attempted to pull one of the half-dozen guns he had within reach inside his car decorated with a hand-painted Confederate flag.
A Towns County sheriff’s deputy and an agent from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office stopped 30-year-old Dustin Lee Gunnells, of Hiawassee, for an unspecified misdemeanor traffic offense Wednesday, reported WKRK-AM.
“Immediately the driver exhibited aggression towards the officers and began making statements consistent with ‘sovereign citizen type beliefs,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Rather than comply with deputies, the driver reached for a gun.”
The deputies feared for their safety but did not shoot, and instead broke out a window in Gunnell’s car and physically removed him from the vehicle.
Gunnells then tried to reach for a gun he kept in a holster at the small of his back, deputies said, but they were able to subdue him and take away his weapon.
One of the deputies suffered minor injuries from broken glass, and they said Gunnells refused medical treatment for minor injuries.
Deputies said they found six guns — a 9mm hand gun, a .45-caliber handgun, a .40-caliber handgun, a .44 magnum caliber short rifle, and a .223-caliber AR-15 military-style rifle — and extra ammunition inside Gunnells’ car.
Each of the weapons was loaded, and all but the AR-15 had rounds within the chamber, authorities said. Two of the handguns, including the one Gunnells kept holstered at his back, were cocked, investigators said.
