Just heard that rems got the votes needed.

Looks like this town board will be elected AGAIN!!!

TJ won?  What's their ROI for that vote?

Don't know.....but the last one to see DiLeva before she went in to that meeting was TJ....I saw them talking in the secretary area
of the Supervisor's office just before she walked in and took her seat.

So now do we get notice of a bigger increase in the tax rate since the budget cuts have to be reinstated?

DeLeva is out.....and the Board had no choice but to put Rems in.....don't you guys get it???????

The residents put up a fight for what they wanted....it's probably the first time in the history of the

"familia" that they lost.

This was a no brainer....and WC AND HB will not win the next election....

New blood after the first of the year......and it will be a Godsend.....fresh faces and a chance to

get this Town back on track for the future....it will be transparent with the residents have their

power back...

FIRST....the budget ....the raises are not deserved......

A chance for new faces all the way around....a chance for Rotterdam to get out of the past and look

to a brighter future.....that's what everyone in this Town needs and wants...

It's a MERRY CHRISTMAS FOR THE TOWN....REMS PREVAILED.

The results of last nights' votes brought to mind the sage words of an old Christmas song -- "the wrong shall fail -- the right prevail."    Thank God that we had 3 Town Board members willing to stand up for what was right and saved an essential town institution -- R.E.M.S.

Typical response from a NON-TAXPAYER.  The mind of someone who favors a socialist system, bigger government, higher taxes, because he is NOT a taxpayer.  He will NOT be writing a check out of his own checking account to pay the tax bill!

Are you sure? I thought that the paramedics were taken off the tax rolls and rems picked them up and now employ them....no?

Those raises are still a 'go' with the money 'saved' by booting the paramedics.....yes?

Schumer: Ambulance funding threatened

Thursday, December 12, 2013

ALBANY — Sen. Charles Schumer warns that ambulance crews are threatened with the loss of critical funding.

At stake is $40 million in Medicaid payments statewide used to pay for ambulance services. He says that critical funding will expire Jan. 1 if Congress doesn't act first.

The Democrat says that without action, urban ambulances will lose 2 percent of their federal funding and rural services will lose 3 percent.

Schumer says ambulance crews say the funding is vital. He is proposing a five-year extension of the funding.

An officer with the American Ambulance Association says the funding is needed for financial stability and to replace old equipment and update technology.
