proposal, which called for Syria to place its chemical weapons under international control and
for the weapons to be destroyed.

As Syria announced Tuesday morning that it would accept Russia’s offer to hand over its
chemical weapons, the White House and other proponents of U.S. strikes rushed to claim
credit, arguing that the threat of military intervention brought the Assad regime to the
negotiating table.

“In our view, the only reason this is now being seriously discussed by the Russians is
because of the threat of U.S. military action,” a senior administration official told TPM.
“Were chemical weapons to be transferred into international control and ultimately destroyed,
that would be a positive outcome. But, if this has any chance of happening, we need to have
the threat of military action in our pocket.”

Also interesting to note is the ONLY entity not happy with the solution are the Syrian rebels themselves...
It sort of gives credence to the Russian claim that the Rebels were behind the Sarin attack, hoping for an international military response against Assad

Theodore Roosevelt’s foreign policy: "speak softly, and carry a big stick." and it worked.

As far as another Obama Peace Prize... It's not likely even with this great achievement.  
The Peace Prize has been awarded to 101 individuals and 20 organizations. Only two recipients
have won multiple Prizes:
~the International Committee of the Red Cross has won three times (1917, 1944, and 1963)
and
~the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has won twice (1954 and 1981)

I'm glad we are not getting involved but this time we can thank the American people for not believing Obama or this government, the American people made their voices heard and smacked that smug fckn look off of Obama's face.
