The National Railroad Passenger Corporation, doing business as Amtrak, is a publicly fundedrailroad service operated and managed as a for-profit corporation. Have used AMTRAK service many times and found it efficient and comfortable. Countries all over the world (especially Europe and Asia) have found the means of making rail transport safe, efficient and profitable. Seems US can't find the formula!
