The medical ignorance of some politicians — particularly in regard to women’s reproductive
health — is a continual source of astonishment.

While searching through the legislative history of Virginia state Sen. Mark Obenshain, now running on
the Republican ticket for his state’s attorney general position, reporters found that he had authored a
bill in 2009 that would have required all women in Virginia to report miscarriages to police or risk
legal penalties, including as much as a year in jail.

Because it ties up time and money when they find a dead baby in a dumpster somewhere and then they have to waste time figuring out who it belongs to or if it was murder. If it happens at a hospital there is no reason to report it to anyone, if it happened at home and it was tossed in the trash then that is a recipe for trouble.

A "dead baby" in a dumpster is a crime scene.  We aren't discussing a "dead baby".

The Continuing GOP War On Women

Republican (of course) Rep. Trent Franks (Arizona) joined Todd Akin in the realm of Republican men who
were either absent during health ed or listening to Pat Robertson instead. The conservative Congressman
joined an all-male House  Judiciary Committee–which is like an all-female panel debating jock
straps– arguing against a Democratic amendment to make exceptions for rape and incest by suggesting
that pregnancy from rape is rare.

Quoted Text
The fact of the matter is that the National Center for Biotechnology Information,
U.S. National Library of Medicine, says that among adult women, an estimated 32,101
pregnancies result from rape each year, which is not exactly a devastatingly ‘low’ number

The national rape-related pregnancy rate is 5.0% per rape among victims of reproductive
age (aged 12 to 45); among adult women an estimated 32,101 pregnancies result from rape
each year, according to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National
Library of Medicine.

Libertarians believe in freedom.
Republicans believe in Big Government Restriction of Women.

Libertarian  Platform:
1.4 Abortion

Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on
all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to
each person for their conscientious consideration.

Rand/Ron Paul is a Republican... Not a Libertarian.

Probably the stupidest thing I ever heard, Libertarians don't follow one magical rule guide, different libertarians agree and disagree on many issues.

Yes and that's why Libertarians agree that (unless they are going to support Big Govt)
each person should be allowed to make up their own mind on the issue of abortion... that would
exclude laws restricting it.

You trying to tell us what libertarianism is about is a joke, you probably believe Glenn Beck is a libertarian. By the way most Libertarians would like to see it at a state issue not a federal issue.
