Other counties and municipalities across the country have been applying for and receiving these federal grants --- and enjoying the benefits of these federal dollars in the form of modernized infrastructure, growing tax bases, job creation and a better quality of life ------------  the uninformed NNTP crowd thinks that is Schenectady County and the Town of Rotterdam does NOT apply for the grants that our federal taxes will magically get lower ..  the FACT is .. the $$$ for the grants has already been appropriated (for you tea-drinking NNTPers that means SPENT)  --- so if we don't get the grant SOMEONE ELSE WILL.

I am tired of my federal and state tax dollars being used BY OTHER COMMUNITIES and not by us -- I'll proudly vote for representatives who will "shake every tree" to get every grant that we can lay our hands on.

So am I, and that's why I want them to stop handing them out, therefore allowing us to spend our own money in our own neighborhoods.  Funny thing is, if you re-read your last comment (the one I bolded), then you would see that you're actually saying the exact same thing that we "tea-drinking NNTPers" are talking about.  That's right, you're one of us.  Believe me, it scares more than you and me.  It's a matter of we differ on how the money should be applied / get to where it needs to go.

County taxes are going up .. because Mr. Farley and Mr. Amedore haven't done anything to cut unfunded State mandates ...   it is time to find replacements for these two.

And what has the savage done?

What has Cuomo done?   Huh?

And what have your dems done?    Please provide linkes showing the bills showing the dem sponsors of  the bills that have been INITIATED by the dems to eliminate the mandates.  Well??????   Show us

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Double-dipping labor leaders stand to reap millions

As head of a $1.5 billion public pension fund, James Capasso Jr. signed off… (Phil Velasquez, Chicago Tribune)

October 12, 2011|By Jason Grotto, Tribune reporter

At least eight Chicago labor leaders who are eligible for inflated city pensions also stand to receive union pensions covering the same work period, thanks to a charitable interpretation of state law by officials representing two city pension funds, a Tribune/WGN-TV investigation has found.

By double and even triple dipping on pensions, these union officials stand to reap millions more in retirement while thousands of rank-and-file union members face hard times and city pension funds stagger toward insolvency.

Working together works! Just like Nisky and the City. These DEM morons have raided all reserves, bonded a new County nursing home {that still has not had a ground breaking} and screwed every small business and County property owner. Forget what the idiot DEM trolls say. Throw the bums out!

Thank you working together DEM team! Besides breaking the Cuomo tax cap in every DEM only town/city you also raised taxes Countywide! Thank God we have such fiscal experts running our affairs. So what if all reserves have been depleted and the City DEM morons can't even pay their County taxes. Sure that the Nisky DEMS will not mind picking up that share- lol.
