I truly think the majority of Rotterdam doesn't give a $hit about the drama at the Senior Center. Abolish the Center and senior activities would be organized through community churches. If there is a demand for senior services, churches should be stepping up to care for their aging flock.

Yes, we know who they are, like the confidential secretary from the other side of the river, and then there's the attorneys. Everybody got the special consideration at the beginning of the term. I do, however, disagree with your idea that they "pay their own wages," unless you're stating that the tax bill that they pay on the property they own is more than the wages that they make working there. That's the only way that you could say that they pay their wages. If they don't pay that much, then there's at least one other person / family also paying their wages. Plus, does this mean that they don't get any other services from the town, i.e. plowing? If they do, then you would have to subtract that before figuring their wages.

The taxpayers are paying not only for their own health care/retirement benefits.....but also for the town/government workers...forever!
So the town workers are not contributing 'anything' toward the private workers, but the private workers are paying for them!!!

I will be calling the IRS tomorrow and turning them to make sure they claim their tips. Mr. Griesemer is doing a terrific job running the place.
