There is something wrong in this Board's thinking process......Senior center title was changed

to benefit a one man team of Marco,,  she was unqualified and no real credentials but a token

to be appointed...party gives only to those who have connections not qualifications....and how

sad to have a power play...JD did not deserve  disrespect..was this position up for resumes

back.back in Jan 2010???    Vacancy should have none of this.....besides, who was put up to

presenting a resume???????  naive....don't thi so....Team Marco at it and can't fall from grace

with any humilirt or class////power to where power belongs...to someone who deserves it...i

Can disg it out    ....can't take it and sit down...get a life...do something worthwhile....do

chariity for others....Diversity...Truth....not  disregarding what is a democracy and for all people

not one bent on selfishness...and is defiant for personal reasons....

Yours is probably excellent but her senior service experience is expansive and includes sitting on the governors council for nysofa.  She has great credentials.

Flurry of concerns raised in Rotterdam
John Purcell 03/10/11
Residents speak out over senior post, rezoning and dirt track

The Rotterdam Town Board meeting had residents speaking out on a gambit of topics on Wednesday, March 9, with council members responses pleasing some and frustrating others.

Efforts to fill a recent vacancy created by Supervisor Frank Del Gallo at the town’s Senior Center continued, but with little avail. Diane Marco was terminated by Del Gallo after her 14 month probationary period and reappointment in the January organizational meeting. For the second board meeting in a row, Del Gallo pushed for the board to pass a resolution to hire John DeGeorgio, former head of the department, to the senior center leadership position.

While council members Wayne Calder and Matthew Martin voted down the resolution, Councilwoman Nicola DiLeva was absent from the meeting, Del Gallo appears persistent in hiring DeGeorgio even if the board doesn’t approve it.

“Mr. DeGeorgio is qualified for this job and, one way or another, he is going on that job,” said Del Gallo before the vote. “Hopefully they will vote him on it … whatever way I’ve got to do it, I’m going to do it. That’s the way it is going to be done.”

During the first public hearing earlier in the night on a proposed zoning change for 6.38 acres on the east side of Feuz Road, north of the intersection of Countywalk Road, from A-1 Agriculture to R-3 Multi-Family Residential there were residents arguing for the board to deny the change.

Residents in the surrounding community were concerned the proposed two eight-unit residential apartment buildings would ruin the surrounding atmosphere and environment, while possibility bringing down property values and increasing crime..........................>>>>..................>>>>..................http://www.spotlightnews.com/news/view_news.php?news_id=1299786293

from rambling on for well over ten minutes at a Town Meeting.  You were told nicely that your stupid ramblings were during the time for personel issues.

Oh rotterdamians can relate raspy..........just like when tj hooker was allowed, to ramble and rant on and on and on and on about promoting his buddies at REMS!!

OMG you can say that again...talk about a LONG irrelevant walk down bad memory lane.

Everyone should steady themselves for another TJ scam...he is the reason the BLS contract was tabled for no APPARENT reason...but
of course the motivation is that TJ intends to secure a BLS contract for the thieves at REMS....that's why his only ally on the Board
made the motion to table that resolution AGAIN. TJ is still maneuvering to steer that contract to REMS...he is obsessed with
it really...he hasn't been the same since that tax was defeated....and he is fixated on saving REMS anyway he can....even if it means
endless delays with our bls/als contracts that is losing money everyday for the town. I mentioned this earlier, but IF REMS is still
collecting that money, I believe TJ would prefer endless delays to keep it that way before he would see that contract go to another
ems provider, even as the Town is being robbed.

Senders Alley is correct.  You don't seem to understrand what is involved here or what is at stake.  It isn't babysitting.  It is unfortunate to hear that FDG would even consider JD.  There is obviously something else going on here.  Marco was fine in the job.  Sad to think FDG would play with the lives of seniors.  Just ran into a prominent senior in Town who said they are worried FDG will close the center down.

Right now the rotterdam senior center is in fact a baby sitting, for rumor mongers and political grabbing social center. It should be closed NOW and the old ugly building DEMOLISHED!! It is a total waste of rotterdam taxpayer's money!!!! Any organized babysitter can handle the rotterdam senior center as it sits right now. It has become nothing more than a playground for DM and the rest who have nothing else better to do with their own senior lives.

there are many many many organizations through out schenectady county that the taxpayers already pay for. Just google Elder care........there's a ton of services. REAL elder care services!! Rotterdam taxpayers should not have to pay for yet another layer of taxation. Especially in rotterdam where EVERYTHING becomes a political platform!!!

CLOSE THE DAMN PLACE!!! Where is rotterdam's missing town clerk? Where is the als monies?

BT--I don't know if it would be wise to close the senior center now.  You need a real office to help the seniors connect the services they need.  Not as simple as you think,  And yes I think it is time EE resigned her position and somebody, anybody, got appointed to the job.  EE hs done immense good and I do believe she was set-up--but now it's time to say good-bye or all the good she has done will truly be lost.  I like her, I have always supported her but this board is correct --the grater good would be served in Eunie now resigned--and I mean the Reps need to let her do it with grace and dignity EVEN IF YOU DON'T THINK SHE HAS IT COMING.  Her children should urge her to do the right thing.  The unbearable loss of her son several months ago, I am sure, has put her over the edge.  Her children should help her make this transition to retirement which she so sorely deserves.
