...simply because you have proven to me on this blog, in the last election cycle and more precisely with your current inaction that you are not the man you purported yourself to be.  I have an alias, and don't claim to be anyone but a resident of the town.  I make no promises, and I break no promises.  You, however, chose to do otherwise.  Therefore, whether you consider it to be noble or not, when you do (or don't do) things people are free to observe them and comment about them.

You, of course, can disagree...who wouldn't?!  Bottom line, IMHO, is that we are seeing the decline...nay, the merging of the NNTP with the Democrats.  Shame, shame...

That's your response?  I don't "purport" to be anyone.  I am who I am and it's fine if you don't like me, but then I'm confused as to why you desire my opinion so badly?

I make plenty of promises.  And I keep those I make.  Which promise to you did I break?

But you've proved my point about trying to have a substantive conversation with an alias - it can't be done and you've illustrated that superbly!  My time is too valuable to continue this nonsense with you.  Good luck with yourself.

I heard that the NNTP guys had a meeting again last night with some politicos and candidates ~ can anyone confirm that?

Also ~ I understand the NNTP already has candidates to run for offices outside of Rotterdam.

Contrary to the sock puppets here the NNTP has linked with the Tea Party patriots and is going large. They have candidates in Nisky, Glenville and the City. Even outside this County.

They are not sitting around waiting for nonexistent "olive branches" and free ziti.

If the NNTP and Tea Party put up decent candidates in the coming elections we may finally get some real change in the local/state/federal governments.

Michael, if you were truly about what is best for the town...then you would have been weighing in at these previous meetings.  They discussed a spending cap, they fired town residents...come on! Why all of a sudden no word from you?

Where have  'you' been TBV? You seem to have your pulse on the political community. Start with 'the man in the mirror' first.

I've been here. Like I said...I've made no promises, and broken no promises.  I haven't allied with Reps or Dems.  I haven't sold my soul.  I haven't rode John Mertz's coattails down a path to disaster because it was the "right" thing to do.  I CERTAINLY did not contribute to the Dems gaining control of Rotterdam.  The NNTP guys have done all this, and more!

That's because you are a zero.

Like you ~ in the big scheme of things ~ I'm a zero too.  Except for an empty committee seat ~ I haven't accomplished much either.  I did align myself with the local Reps at one point ~ blindly.  I've also seen reason to "do the right thing" and support Mertz and the NNTP.  I MAY have contributed to the Dems gaining control by not voting for certain Reps ~ then again ~ so did hundreds or thousands of others.

Of course ~ the NNTP did this and more ~ the Reps are not to blame for anything ~ and so more and more enrolled Reps will grab on to the Mertz coattails and "do the right thing".

But ~ this brings up a very good point ~ after what Mertz and the NNTP did ~ don't they owe it to the electorate to push the NNTP to eventual victories?  After all ~ more and more people will support candidates who want to "do the right thing"  AND ~ the NNTP boys should remember that they don't answer to any political boss ~ independent ~ that's why they received our support.

Are you saying that the NNTP candidates did not give another 'choice' to the electorate? Are you saying that the NNTP didn't energized and awaken the electorate? Are you saying that just because BM has accepted to sit and 'serve' (in his home town) on the 'bipartisan' ida board, that he is aligning himself with the dem party? Are you saying that the dems sweep was solely because of the NNTP and that the reps carry no responsibility? Are you saying that the NNTP guys rode mertzie's coattails for political gain knowing he was booted from his own party?

Come on! That is pure nonsense!

I agree with and respect your post, Felipe. Few things:

Hundreds OF thousands of people voted for Obama...they are reaping what they sowed.

The Reps are to blame for their wrongs, certainly.  But there are other contributing factors!

When does the leader of the NNTP become a "political boss?" Who makes that determination?  That's the funny part about this, to me...the NNTP is no different than anyone!  They want "their way" or the highway.  So does everyone else.  They had support in the last election.  They'll probably have it in the next.  But then, people will get sick of them and move onto the next thing.  The shameful part is that they lead people to believe they are something they are not.  They are another party...with another boss...with another agenda.  Plain and simple.

Felipe, NNTP doesn't report to any political bosses? I think Brian Kolb qualifies as a political boss. The funny part is NNTP bashes the common parties to rally support behind their noble cause yet they do so with money and man-hour support from RACC!what bunch of lying self serving...Politicians. As soon as the public realizes the purpose of the NNTP is to allow RACC to control local politics, the people will revolt.

Wow, can everyone sense the desperation to destroy the NNTP going on here by other political "operatives".  Perhaps someone feels "threatened"?

I don't know if anyone feels threatened...just eager to expose the NNTP as others were to expose ST for his faults.  What's fair is fair, right?
