NEWSFLASH: According to insider sources, there will be no Sheriff's election this November. The "machine" is scared of Joe Lazzari so they will postpone installing the new sheriff until September. The election will be held November 2010. This way he can corner any opponent (if any).

They don't care about the oppressed County taxpayers, they don't care about Democracy, they don't care about choice, they care about retaining power. And in typical Schenectady County style, nobody will say nuthin and nobody knows from nuthin.

Well first, it appears to be that Lazzari might be a strong contender for Dago. And it appears that they are trying to circumvent the system.

Second, this will clearly take our right away to 'choose' who we, the taxpayer, the ones footing the bill, want in that position. Socialist??/Democracy??

Third, 'ballot initiative'! Force a vote!

SCHENECTADY COUNTY
Spending uneven in race for sheriff

BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter

In the contest for Schenectady County sheriff, Conservative Party candidate Dominic Dagostino has raised more money than Independence Party candidate Joe Lazzari but has spent less, according to recent financial filings.
Dagostino, 42, running on the Conservative, Democratic and Working Families Party lines, raised $35,000, according to three filings with the state Board of Elections.
Joe Lazzari, 60, running with the Republican and Independence lines, raised $20,000.
Dagostino’s largest contributions are $15,000 collected through fund raisers; $2,500 received from the Schenectady County Police Conference, $2,500 from the Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82; and $2,500 from the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Association. Dagostino also loaned his campaign $1,000.
Lazzari’s largest contributions are $4,000 through a fund raiser, $1,600 from the Schenectady County Republican Committee and $1,500 from the Independence Party...............>>>>.............>>>>.............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01605&AppName=1

I heard lazzari is gaining momentum in the county race. Many dems are voting for him. Although they aren't allowed to tell anyone! And that's no kidding either!

I haven't seen it. I like him and feel he's the best qualified for the job and would vote for him, but I wonder if he actually had any input on these signs or mailers. More times than not, the party leaders do that stuff. I don't know in this case.

Of course ditch the sign on Erie which thousands of cars pass by.

Joe Lazzari knows what he is doing. He almost beat a sitting Sheriff and has signs all over the County. Let's compare military experience? Some of you experts are in for a big surprise in this race. Keep betting the chalk?

Lazzari's signs are EVERYWHERE in Glenville. Dago might pull rotterdam, although many in rotterdam are not voting for him, but he will have a tough time in the surrounding towns.

I'm just talking about the specific one of the three up on the building in erie that says "The Man".. not the idea of plastering the second floor building on erie, that itself is very smart.
