New ideas are great, I like new feasible ideas. Spitzer ran the same campaign,,,make promises you can't fulfil. If he doesn't manage to accomplish any of the ideas he's running on, should we vote him out in the next election cycle? I understand that staunch republicans like to use that phrase "tax and spend dems", maybe you haven't noticed that the republican congress didn't have a spending bill vetoed in the 4 years of our republican presidents first term and 2 year into his second. Republicans spend and borrow(from China). And if I'm not mistaken, Joe Bruno is the State House majority leader, a republican. So if republicans control the majority of the State House and we had 8 years of a republican governor(Pataki). Why is New York the highest taxed state in the union? Republican must not be the answer.
It don't matter too much on what party is in office. They do all tax and spend. I think that it depends on what they are spending the money on. Each party has their own ideas on spending. From way back during war times, spending was always more. But that was at a national political level. In New York State, it has been this way from before Mr. Rockefeller was govenor. I remember him as being the first biggest New York State spending governor. And I have seen it continue that way ever since.
From what I've seen in recent years it doesn't matter whether the Dems or the Reps are in control they are both doing the same thing to us, tax and spend us to death. We need the throw every incumbent out of office so that maybe they'll get the message that we've had enough of their irresponsible spending.

The problem with this election is that neither candidate is an incumbent for this particular office. However, Kosiur is currently a political office holder and I believe he's just on the second rung of the ladder onto bigger and bolder political positions.
He is not the answer to the problems of our state. I don't know if Amedore is the answer, but I do know that Kosiur isn't.
Unfortunately its only people that are supported by a political party that end up getting elected. So now is the time to get to know the person. I've known of Kosiur for a while, and I wouldn't vote for him if he were the only candidate. I would do a write-in. But since there is a candidate without a political history, I will vote for him. I could care less that he's a Republican. I cast my vote with the knowledge I have.
The only way to get a change in our government officials is to vote them out of office. I agree Pat we know Kosiur and don't like him so we'll give the unknown a shot. If he doesn't produce any results we'll vote him out too.
Ed now has his own website. I found it on a flyer that was just thrown on my parents yard. Guess they wanted to make sure they got everybody. Too bad my parents weren't around.
A Schenectady resident, husband, and father of three, Edward J. Kosiur has made a career out of helping others – especially children. Ed’s run for State Assembly builds on his desire to actively make a difference in his community.
He is currently the Director of Teen Employment at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady – helping local teens prepare for the workforce. Previously, he was the founder and director of the Schenectady Children Outreach Recreation and Education (SCORE) Youth Program, which provides both educational and recreational activities for children in grades 3 to 8, an organization he founded in 1995.

During his time in these elected positions, Ed spearheaded the effort to streamline government and make it more efficient – saving Schenectady taxpayers $4 million over the past four years. In addition, he has voted for property tax cuts for the past two years and helped create 2,000 new jobs in Schenectady County.
He also knows the challenges small businesses face, having been the owner and operator of a plumbing service company for seven years, a business he sold to focus on his career helping children.
In addition, Ed worked for several years as a professional baseball umpire from 1981 to 1986.
Through numerous committee memberships, Ed has proven himself a leader in our community. Among the different committees, Ed is a member of: the Professional Association for Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Board of Directors at JC Little League, the Board of Commissioners Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority and Catholic Charities of Schenectady County. Ed and his wife, Barbara, a school nurse, have devoted their lives to serving their community and raising their three daughters. He understands the day-to-day concerns of average families and he will be strong voice for them in the state Assembly.
Here's something to think about. And I would say this if it was the other way around too, before I get complaints that I am a right wing conspirator (a badge I would gladly wear).
First of all, we have a Democrat who, just months ago (ok, now almost a year) ran for a position that he had been in for 30 years now, running on his name and the campaign of "Return me to Albany so that I can finish what I started." Now, what has been accomplished so far this year, before he turned tail and ran into another office?
OK, so now, we have people all over 2 counties without representation for some period around 30-45 days. You now have 2 other people who are contending for this seat.
One of which is fresh to politics...almost too much. He's got good ideas, but does he have what it takes to actually get them carried out? I don't know.
The other choice? Take a person from the County Board and put him into that position. Now, if he's elected, we already have a base of his beliefs of what he may or may not do in office. Schenectady County's taxes have been flying through the roof, so we send him to the state, either because we like what he's doing, or we want to get rid of him. What does that do on the County level?
Well, if you haven't thought about that, it's either an appointment (who gets to decide), or we go through this same thing again. Who wants to deal with all this again???
I don't really like either of them that much, Just dislike A more for his personal views. His work ethic is certainly fine and admirable. K just has more experience. They both obviously do good community things, who knows their real motives. You can't start second guessing what their resons are for doing good as long as they do it. Wish there was a 3rd choice.........
