I found this on the Schenectady forum and thought I'd pass it on.

Candidate Kosiur truly cares about kids

Ed Kosiur has been in our community and doing things for our community for many years now, so when you see him driving around in his car with the license plate that reads “FORSCHDY,” you can believe it.
Since I have known Ed I’ve seen him as the president for PTOs and on many committees and boards, I’ve seen him involved in after-school programs from elementary school to high school. He’s worked for the Boys and Girls Club and volunteered for Little League — even when his own children were no longer involved. The children of our community are like his own children. Just ask any child around who “Mr. Ed” is, and they will tell you. You’ll hear things like, “He’s the guy that bought me an ice cream sundae when I made my first big catch of the Little League game,” or “He’s the guy that helped me find a job and had confidence that I could do that job.”
He will do anything for anybody. I have seen him umpire Little League games with a strained back because the regular umpires didn’t show up and the kids wanted to play ball. I have seen him arrange trips to major league baseball games or to the Great Escape for kids who would not likely be going otherwise.

With his legislative position on sex offenders, he is looking out for our children once again. He doesn’t want to send the sex offenders off of the face of the earth; he just wants to keep them away from our children, by keeping them away from parks and schools.
I strongly believe that Ed is a good man, and that he has been the right man for all of the many challenges that he has taken on, including the city council, and the county Legislature. Now let’s bring him to the next level. Ed Kosiur for New York state Assembly. He has my vote!

I'll bet if we were to check the savings that the teachers do is payroll deducted and they save a percentage of their check for retirement. We're still paying the freight.

This is the constant Democrat ploy.  Why didn't they ask Mr. Kosier that if he wanted to get his points out there to pay for an ad?  You know, the TU does that for the Republicans.  Why can't the Gazette do that for the Democrats?

Pulllleeezzzz BK...the Gazette is liberal enough!! Don't give them any more ideas. And for all we know...the gazette may have donated to Kosiur's campaign. Perhaps not...but they are so 'liberal slanted' that it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I just thought I could give you a run-down of what it was like to have Ed Kosiur on our city council.

First, he brought in entertainment. Singing kids, dancing kids and believe it or not, the Pipe Band. Can you imagine the Pipe Band inside the council chamber? Trust me, it was deafening. Ed Kosiur's whole life seemed to revolve around the kids, and that's not a bad thing but...

Then he got a taste of political power and to me, it seemed like he was drunk with power. Ed Kosiur couldn't speak at the old mayor Al's public hearing for that million dollar pool for the Boys and Girls club in Schenectady, but he was there, all smiles, with his hand out.

I wrote up more on my blog, http://www.pat-zollinger.us and I even included a NO KOSIUR pic. I don't know George Amedore, but my impression of Ed Kosiur is that he's trouble.

It looks like our choices are going to be between a bad choice and an unknown choice, by the process of elimination it looks like Amedore will be getting the votes. Let's give him a try and if it doesn't work out there's always the next election.

I will vote for Mr.Amedore. He is new so we won't hear anything bad about him. He does not have a political history as of yet. So I guess I will take the chance. I would not vote for Mr.Kosiur because he was on the Schenetady City Council and I don't think that they are doing a good job for the city people. So I don't think that he will do a good a good job for Rotterdam either. I wouldn't want to take the chance.

Mr. Amedore, may end up being the worst politician ever. But since he doesn't have a political past, I agree with Tony, he is starting with a squeaky clean slate.

The only things we know about Mr. Amedore is that he did the Extreme Makeover (which isn't a bad thing) and he is a practicing Christian (which isn't a bad thing)

So I say...let's give him a whirl! Perhaps new blood is just what we need.

Look at it this way, it would be hard for him to do any worse than some of the politicians that we already have.

I agree in theory with you on your idea shadow....but everytime we think we have seen/heard it all.....we, the taxpayers, get the pie in our face!

But Amedore will get my vote and I would encourage all to do the same.

Kosiur comes from a city that is raping their taxpayers, crime is rampant, drugs are everywhere, the police dept. is corrupt, the city allows itself to be run by the PBA and you can find a prostitue just about anywhere. Who, in their right mind would even vote for someone who comes from a political position in a city that is in this bad of shape?

Mt.Pleasant and Bellevue is turning into the beginiing of Hamilton Hill! And Kosiur will run on this sex offender thing! Cause that is all he's got! >

And the metroplex?...that only covers 1 1/2 blocks of the city...the rest is in shambles. I lock my car door every single time I drive through the city...day or night!  So thank you Mr. Kosiur for that...job well done! >

Thanks, Pat.  I'm sure that most people from Rotterdam and Amsterdam are not going to have any clue about what Ed Kosiur did or does stand for unless someone lets us know what he did in his previous position.  And don't be afraid to post your stuff in here, as well as your own blog.  Thanks for keeping us updated.

NO KOSIUR TRESPASSERS!
July 4th, 2007

I’ve known of Ed Kosiur since he was appointed to the Schenectady City Council when Brian Stratton was elected to the County Legislature. He didn’t seem a bad guy, but he also didn’t seem real to me. A “plastic” personality. And then the Daily Gazette came out with the “Pandering Politician” cartoon and I almost wet my pants!

I knew he went to the Pentecostal Church on Albany Street because he told me one afternoon at Garbo’s that he had to drop his daughter off there. It kind of stopped me because I was a childhood member of the church and I couldn’t connect him with the philosophy of my old church. And then it worried me a little. Church doctrine was very clear and I knew Kosiur was then a fraud.

Truth does not lie in doctrine.....doctrine is the result of a truth and, that not wholely seen by us, it is just a passing flicker of what cannot be grasped or held by us....
