SCHENECTADY -- City police are searching for a suspect and a stolen sedan after an armed carjacking Monday morning downtown. A medical taxi driver had just pulled up to a Barney Street residence to pick up a female client at 11:44 a.m. when a group of "juveniles" approached the commercial sedan, James J. Moloney, director of operations for Action Transportation, said.
One man displayed a black handgun to the driver of the white 2010 Honda Accord before stealing it, Schenectady police spokesman OfficerTimothy Rizzo said.
The car is labeled "Action Transportation," a non-emergency medical transportation company, and its livery license plates read 18312LV, Rizzo said.
