MORE GOVERNMENT CONTROL OF YOUR CHILDREN!!!!
...........and if the parent doesn't sign it.....then what??? |

Who assumes the liability risk if your child health manager injures your child while under their care? Once you sign the consent for this, do you give up your right to sue your childs medical manager for any medical malpractice?

Single parents from multi-generational welfare families have learned they can have someone else take care of their kids. I believe these clinics are for those I believe that are medicaid eligible and if not then the parent most likely will have to pay on a sliding fee scale. Let's be honest Schenectady has a very large poor economic community, single moms, dead beat dad's and the kids have already learned meals come free at school and now the single parent mom can get health care for their kids without having to pick them up and take them to the doctors. Every single mom family is going to willingly sign up for the clinic to take care of their kids so they don't have to be bothered now taking the kids to the doctors. Look at the meals programs free breakfast and lunch during the school year and SICM volunteers give out free breakfast and lunch during the summer. The clinics are just an extension of what already has been started. I agree it is wrong.... but then I think about the inoccent children their parents don't care someone has to be there for them. If I can take care of my kids I shouldn't have to sign on to this programs but like someone mentioned above what happens if you don't? my 2 cents woth |

If I do not have the ability to perform the most basic of human responsibilities of taking care of my child, then I certainly can't be expected to have the ability to sign a contract consenting that a stranger do it for me. |

Interesting point. But bottom line is if you are the mother who birthed the child you have legal rights to it's care.
Wonder what happens to the birth mom who is a single parent on medicaid who refuses to sign the contract for the child to be treated by the clinic. |

I think you have a pretty good idea what direction this will be going. It always starts as a voluntary service. Remember when purchasing health insurance was voluntary? |

A couple ( of many) issues in the consent is the clinic can diagnose mental illness, treat children whose parent did sign the consent and NOT have to inform the parent of vaccines given, birth control, or medications. So what happens if a child is given a vaccine or medication and has a reaction? The parent would have NO idea what is going on and this could further jepordize the child's health.
A school is for teaching children, not raising them.
