Nothing wrong with this ruling.
Quoted Text
A lawsuit was filed in 2011 by Nevada resident S. Rowan Wilson after she tried to purchase a gun for self-defense and was denied based on a federal ban on the sale of guns to users of illegal drugs.

True. Excluding the fact that alcoholic beverages are much more dangerous then marijuana and have caused many more alcohol related deaths. Also alcohol much more easily leads to violent behavior then marijuana. Then again, alcoholic beverages are sold in grocery stores. So it must be safer? So should there also be a ban on gun sales to alcohol users along with alcohol abusers ? Along with a ban for people on mind altering legally prescribed drugs? Should have gun sales been prohibited to alcohol users during prohibition? |

I always love pseudo conservatives that support federal judicial decisions that overturn state rights issues. More specific, its a federal decision that suspends a persons constitutional 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. |

So what you are saying is that we should be able to pick and choose what laws should be enforced and what ones should be ignored based on how we feel about them. |

The legalization of marijuana and medical marijuana on the state level is already a violation of federal drug laws. States are collecting tax revenue off of the sale of marijuana. So what you are saying is that you support a federal law and judicial decision that permits restricting a person's right to bear arms because they are doing something that is completely legal on the state level? That would mean the Federal DEA should be raiding states with marijuana dispensaries and forcibly closing them down. And the legislators that passed the laws that made marijuana legal should be arrested for violating federal drug laws. News alert...The Feds are already selectively enforcing drug laws. It is legal in Washington and Colorado to purchase marijuana, in violation of Federal Drug Laws. Hey...maybe you would support a federal law that would prohibit your 1st Amendment right to freedom of religion because you violated a federal drug law. |

Municipal laws do this all the time. It seems like they can ban whatever they want. I dont think anyone gets a state issued MMJ card any more. ( no person in their right mind ) |

Tomorrow July 1 Recreational marijuana goes on sale in Nevada but guns and marijuana smoke in the same room are still illegal as it probably should be.
