Marotta’s Bar-Risto, a contemporary-Italian spot on Union Street’s restaurant row in Schenectady, is closed for four to six weeks, effective today. The business is undergoing a “complete relaunch,” including renovations and a new menu, according to owner Christ Marotta, who passed a message along to me through a staff member.

Sunday was the last day of regular business for at least a month. Customers are encouraged to visit Marotta’s website or Facebook page starting the week of Feb. 7 for an estimated reopening date, according to the staffer.

Located at 611 Union St., Marotta’s debuted in April 2012.
