(whoever gets elected) .... if they could fix the damn sign in front of town hall -- you know the one that has said "John F. Ki-vin Government Center" for the past 15 years.  I am pretty sure that the cost of 1 letter and the labor of the 3 or 4 employees that the union contract will require to be utilized to do the job will not break the town budget.

Back to the original point of this thread.

This thread is a criticism of both parties and the several administrations that have been in office in the past 2 decades -- and advice to the next administration.  How can we expect you to fix the big things, if you don't fix the small things.  The R missing from the sign is an example of a small thing.  It would take so little effort or time to "get it done."
Then try to tackle something a bit bigger.   Maybe - we could actually see some long overdue solutions to big problems -- such as updating zoning.   That issue has been on the table and unresolved for like 45-50 years.

How about they work on the budget and wasteful spending first. If you have time go and ask for the "R" and some glue and fix it yourself if it concerns you so much. I am personally more concerned about the taxes I am paying and the lack of services I get for those dollars.

First - Apparently, some folks don't quite grasp the concept of sarcasm.  No one said or thought that it was the most important problem in the town.

Second - The larger point is that if whoever is elected (and remember the thread was posted BEFORE the Election results came in) can't be bothered to fix the smaller, easier problems than how can we expect that they will attempt to fix the larger ones.

Third - In all seriousness, the R has been missing for over 15 years and NO ONE in elective service to the town has made any attempt to fix it.  All the money spent in those years and our town can't afford to fix the sign on its town hall.
No

Whatever.  Exempt property in the town from taxes, thanks to McCarthy and Metroplex, and this year we are being subjected to an almost 9% tax increase.  But of course, DV, you don't care, you don't pay taxes, you don't have a financial care in the world with two rich mommies who have almost a half million dollar mortgage (according to official government records)

It's because enough people are not voting. Too many lazy people.  Maybe that zoning issue will be resolved this year.  After all, Tommasone may just be the answer...As the first supervisor to hold that position as a democrat and republican.

Don't hold your breath. ST was and still is a poor leader lacking basic social skills.

The Town just took ten steps bacwards. Not bright enough to finesse his way out of his current and former party's major missteps.

Absolute most dimwitted electorate in upstate NY.

Geeze, and you were doing so well, for a while.

Now that explains why the local GOP is so botched-up.

No

FIRST - You brought it up, you even posted it twice, so it seems to be important to you, and I never implied it was the most important problem in the town but for all the real issues around town you brought this one up, sarcastically or not…..

SECOND - The real dilemma is that the "small" problems have swollen into large ones due to the dereliction of the former administration(s) town attorney and departments in this town.

Spot zoning
Dilapidated buildings including Curry road plaza
Decades long neglect of water mains causing breaks and need for emergency infrastructure repair
Traffic congestion due to poor development planning
Business corridor left undesirable due to lack of utilities
Overburdened waste treatment system

THIRD – Obviously the town officials have had more important things on their plates like

Selling off property to the lowest bidder in hopes that they will do something with it…and so it sits
Playing games with fees and making it hard for tax payers to opt out
Trying in vain to switch the default EMS company
Allowing for developers and contractors run amuck over the town at the expense of residents and neighboring properties
Treating female town workers so horrendously that they sue for harassment
Spending time suing contractors over projects like the war memorial at town hall
Suing an organization over their tax status
And the list could go on and on……
