I talk to people who make $10-$15/hour and can BARELY live in Schenectady because of the cost of living and taxes. They talk about the casino and the pay rate isn't any better. With new digital technology quickly coming this casino(and any casino by the research I've done) doesn't have more than a 5-10 year window for anything more than trinket novelty fun. Not much in the $$$ for the county OR the city.
A friend of mine is trying to sell their home and have been for 3 years. The real estate people keep telling them "just wait for the casino, it'll sell and for more money."
According to the research I've done, NO ONE moves next to a casino or a stadium.

but those kids show up for the free brown bags/back packs and winter jackets.......give a man a fish, he eats for a day, pay the parents minimum wage and they eat for a day, give a man a fishing pole he becomes self sufficient, pay the parents what makes them fight for the wage and they become self sufficient.

There were so many statements posted on here which claimed that person(s) had studied the situation, talked to so many people and reported of massive throngs of voters who were going to take to the streets and vote McCarthy out of office. Apparently, they must have all stayed home to watch reruns of old movies or they were just "fig newtons" of some person(s) imagination.

Need to compare vote to population to see what percentage decided for Schenectady.

If the turn out had been the same and Hull won with 55% of the vote, you wouldn't be using turnout as an excuse/reason.
My point is that there are so many self-appointed experts who claimed to have "studied" the situation, spoken to so many people who were going to take to the streets and dump McCarthy --- where were they all on Tuesday?
So .. when will the self-appointed experts admit that they were wrong in their predictions of Hull winning in a massive landslide?
So .. what will be the next lame excuse for Hull being trounced?
