You have a choice as voters this Election Day. It’s a simple one.  Either you vote for Gary McCarthy who represents the Rich getting much Richer in the next 4 years or for Roger Hull who is fighting very hard for the Poor and working class folks in the Neighborhoods for their very existence and survival.

McCarthy = Fighting For Rich Developers
Hull = Fighting For Poor & Working Class People

How do you figure Hull is fighting for the poor?  He is a millionaire with his own agenda, he is not a leader.  Look at his history at Union, brought the schools ranking down during his tenure as President the most under age drinking incidents all while he collected a million dollar yearly salary. He doesn't have a clue how to run a city.

I agree but not for those reasons.

I, personally never heard mention of how hull was going to help the so called struggling home owners....ya know....the 'victims'.

how exactly was/is he going to help them?

actually....what is hulls platform?

I don't really care so much if he is rich or not....that wouldn't be the issue for me personally.

Mcmayor isn't a millionaire and he sucks!!!!!

imho

Like I stated this election boils down to:

McCarthy = Fighting For Rich Developers (Downtown)
Hull = Fighting For Poor & Working Class People (Neighborhoods)

Hull did a poor job running Union College - which doesn't pay any property taxes - and then took a whole bunch of properties off the city's tax rolls.  Hull is being bankrolled by the a bunch of super rich folks like the Golubs and folks from New York City and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Hull represents the failed past under the Farley-Jurzynski regime which drove the city and county into the ground.
McCarthy is a decent person -- not evil incarnate like the nayboobs try to make him out to be.  McCarthy has improved the city -- the city is now going in the right direction.

Reelect Gary McCarthy

I believe, but correct me (with evidence)  if I'm wrong, ALL institutions of education are exempt from paying property taxes in NYS so that is NOT a CHOICE made by Hull.

And explain HOW McCarthy has improved the city --- what, by giving away the peoples money to millionaires and billionaires?   HOW does that improve the city.

DV, do you have a clue that the tax base under McCarthy has FALLEN.  Do you realize that?  How is that an improvement?

The city has achieved a record under McCarthy, it has become the HIGHEST over assessed city in the whole state of NY.  Please explain how that is an improvement.

How is it an improvement that McCarthy REFUSES to reassess the whole city NOW, and in his refusal, the city is in violation of state law by not assessing ALL properties in the SAME, the "Uniform Percentage of Value,"   how do YOU claim that such violation of law is an improvement made by McCarthy?   No answer?

Home sales are DOWN in the city under McCarthy, how is THAT an improvement?

Tons of homeowners have chosen to flee the city even before their house has sold, and then often their houses take a LONG time to sell and often the houses sell for LESS than the people purchased their house for, not to mention many are underwater on their mortgage because they could not even sell their house for what was still owed on it.  How is THAT in improvement???????   Well?????????

There is an over abundance of EXISTING VACANT houses and rental units (I'm NOT talking the dilapidated ones), no takers for purchase or rental, but many more apartments are being built--with taxpayers' money.  For what?  There's record high vacancies now, but McCarthy adds more housing that will be vacant.  Hell, even Phillip Morris FLED THE CITY and could not sell his city house--why not???????     So how is adding more residential units to a city with a record high over abundance of EXISTING vacant residences (in good condition, up to code),  and adding them at taxpayer expense and making them tax exempt -- How is it an improvement when the homeowners have to bear the financial burden?

Tennis, the A-diamond, ice skating in Central Park -- all eliminated, even though taxpayers paid for these services -- How is eliminating these services an improvement???????   Well?

Refuses to hold people accountable for obeying the laws of the city regarding sorting trash.  How is that an improvement????

Doubling the non-tax deductible trash fee on struggling homeowners -- how is that an improvement?????

Following in the footsteps of the mayor full of BS, he continued to have Schenectady be the ONLY place around here that does NOT declare a snow emergency (alternate side parking), failing to push snow back to the curb to widen the streets to allow especially emergency vehicles to get through.  Eliminating an essential service to the residents in their neighborhoods -- how is that an improvement??????

Answers to those questions, DV??????????   ROFL       Not a chance!

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
