 Death Ray strikes again! Metrograft is dumping $60,000 in County taxpayer money to open Albany Distilling on Yates Street. Unused buildings will be turned into a distillery. A wine bar that was "planned" for the space has walked. Just what downtown needs yet another taxpayer funded gin mill-no? More alcohol fueled development with no retail in sight despite repeated press releases about toy stores, jewelry stores, department stores coming downtown. What about a bar at the old Trustco HQ which the County taxpayers bought for a new courthouse/county offices? Mayor McCheese was unavailable for comment. |
