Guess tonight is not the night for me to order pizza. First tried to order from Dominos online because had a 50 percent off coupon code that I received in
the mail yesterday, wouldn't work, called store no help, said code expired (no expires Aug. 23rd) or their store does not accept them, hmmm their
address is on the card mailed to me.

Then called Newest Pizza, no answer.

Called I love NY Pizza who we have ordered from numerous times and was told they will NO longer deliver in my area, said an incident happened on my
street and also a driver robbed at knifepoint on Hullett.  St a couple nights ago.

Pizza Hut stopped delivering here many years ago.

Oh well, Chinese food then.

Eating Chinese takeout --- I hope the people who EAT it make it out safe.

It is hard to argue the above facts.  Pizza places that won't delivery due to risk of robbery or worse.

Our city is in freefall everywhere but downtown.

Others might say it is like this everywhere - and that is to an extent true.  It is also true that it is most prevalent in states that have overbuilt its entitlement system and have enacted tax structures that chase businesses away...  And with it opportunity.

Yes a good part of it is due to globalization - but a larger part of it is due to the decline of the family, and with it a commitment to education, morals, etc...

While this is just a slice of what is indeed happening in a number of other areas in the country - what should infuriate everyone is the moronic liberals that think everything is great...  More spending and all our problems will be solved.

Oh look - everything is great...  We have Proctor's.  And Quirky!  Oh and the casino!

Don't look at your tax bills, the increasing crime, the street conditions that are far worse than surrounding areas...  Houses that won't sell, declining prices of any that do...

But did I mention we have a casino coming?

It was YOU, DV, who stated that Metroplex is a solid investment and it has provided a positive dividend.

Naturally those of us who are taxpayers and have intelligence, know you are just FULL OF SH*T and your comments are meaningless.

DV, here is an obvious long time city resident, homeowner, and taxpayer who has seen a massive reduction in the poster's home value combined with big increase in taxes and now is unable to have pizza delivered.  So DV, please explain what positive dividend Metroplex has provided to this city resident, homeowner and taxpayer.

Naturally since we intelligent people know you better than you know yourself, we know that you will NOT answer the question.

I disagree.

Many people just don't give a fucck about this city.

Perhaps they have bad attitudes because of the city taking homes by the boatload, cops, judges and lawyers all living large taking taxpayer dollars profiteering off of destroying families in their useless, money pit of a drug war.

People can complain about atrocious behavior in targeted war zones, but it's wasted energy because so many people depend on the drug war for their sweet lifestyles.

A half a century and nothing has been accomplished except for the massive escalation of death and violence.

Gangs and gangsters are a product of the drug war, just as it was for alcohol.

One day the people woke up and decided to end the war on alcohol and then there was peace.

No one wants to admit it because so many people profit off of the war on drugs.

I agree there.  I can't tell you how many times I started trying to write a few sentences in a response to you and no matter what I wrote sounded too harsh.  But I wound up thinking how the rich can have a half dozen kids and their version of neglecting their children is to send them off to boarding school. but the children then get fed properly, have other needs tended do, and very possibly can be loved by the staff, they will grow up educated and go on to be self supporting (even if they produce another generation put in boarding school).   A parent will be charged with child abuse for physically beating them, but what about charging them with neglect if they don't provide for them (clothing, making sure they have their homework done, etc).  I just think about the childless parents out there, two couples we know in fact, can't have kids or have been trying unsuccessfully, and what good parents they would be and the government just wants to keep the kids with the parents and family.  Think of that little boy last Christmas time, what was his first name, Kevin, Kenneth, can't remember offhand, last name was White, look at the long drawn out court stuff needed to keep his sibling or siblings away from that family.  If those kids weren't removed from that family (all family members), they very possibly would grow up with no values or morals and robbing a pizza delivery person.

I disagree.
we can all agree that drugs (coke, heroin) are not a positive contribution to society.
I am hard pressed to believe that the folks who sell/use hard core drugs are doing so because taxes are too high or because of a high cop budget.
an alto i agree that the government is corrupt.....i also believe that everyone has a moral compass.
ya know.....PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY?
Again.....I still stand that the base cause for the fall of civilized society is the breakdown of the family.
....high taxes? Bloated budgets?.....NOPE!.....just an excuse! imo

Drug use is obviously not a positive contribution to society.

But billions have been spent in the never ending search to do the impossible.

Police salaries and other operational costs are over 30% of the entire budget.

Drugs are just as freely available as they were 50 years ago.

As far as the breakdown of families, thousands of families have been destroyed from targeted enforcement.

You can't keep your prison factories staffed with prisoners who were targeted, and have them be at home teaching family values at the same time.

You arrest the heads of households, who haven't  hurt anyone, for victimless crimes against the state.

Then whine about the bad family values and massive welfare costs for the broken families.

While imported cops live in half a million dollar homes.

All the money is spent helping the cops, lawyers, judges and corporate owned prisons, causing a million times more harm to society than all the drug use.

Newsflash, drug use can't be stopped.

They tried lifetime imprisonment and failed.

Today it is lifetime profiteering and racist targeted enforcement.

Its like they consider prohibition of alcohol was a fairy tale.

Instead of the massive waste of lives and money, that it really was.

The city will let everything else in the entire city fail before they will admit that the drug war has done nothing except damage to society.

More cops is the newest idea.

Idiots.

Simply declaring a truce would give the city a massive surplus every year.

Family value can't be legislated or enforced with guns.

That only teaches people who their enemies are.

Go outside and try to force your family values on your neighbors.

I'll come see you in the hospital if you survive.

The families are broken by enforcement.

They are enemies of the enforcers and the government as much as the terrorists that hate us.

They hate us for breaking their families too, and trying to use force, to force American family values and government on them, as well.

You can't complain about people having no values when they live in places that I wouldn't let my dogs spend the night.

Throw 20 million more into more cops pockets, that will make those living in squalor learn respect and and a moral compass.

No it won't, it will make them hate the city even more.

If you want the people of Hamilton hill to be more respectful, you must treat them with respect.

Respect is earned.

Making people respect you because you have guns and the force of the law does not earn you one single molecule of respect.

It causes escalation of the use of force by the ones that you seek top change.

You can't threaten people to respect the city and their neighbors.

People will respect others when they are treated fairly and as equals, not when treated as targeted undesirables suitable for prison labor.

Count the sneakers on the wires on your street.

Every pair of sneakers is another broken family.

Broken by violence and force.

I disagree.
Families are broken by choice.
50% divorce rate.
single family homes.
no father.
no mother.
6 kids by 6 different fathers.
some kids don't even know who their father's are.
abortion used for birth control.
empty churches.
............and the list goes on.
a strong family base is the foundation of society.

the drug issue/law enforcement is an entirely different issue altogether, and just one of many reasons excuses for the lack of stable families.

and lets add to the list....
step fathers.
step mothers.
step brother's/ sisters.
....oh that's right....society calls them 'blended families' to make it more palatable.
weekend visits.
custody battles.
suzie has 2 mommys.
johnny has 2 daddys.
yup...that's family stability for ya.
.....and the lawyers are laughing all the way to the bank!!

cops?
drugs?
it goes w-a-y beyond that!
