Rivers Casino is presently preparing to open an Information Center in Downtown Schenectady at 433 State Street, in Center City. While no applications for employment will be accepted at this time, the public will be able to visit the office during established hours to learn more information about the project, as well as visit http://www.riverscasinoandresort.com to sign up for project updates.

we were told it was open already and that MALOZ is taking apps.

Of course it was... the fix was in...Anyone that didn't have skin in the game knew that Rennselaer had the best setup, the most access to traffic, wasn't being built over an industrial waste site, and had a proven backer in Hard Rock... it just lacked one thing... being a democratic controlled county....Prince Andrew's claims that he had no influence on the commission is an absolute joke.
Rush/Galessi baited everyone with a modern looking facility, and then give us The Mohawk Commons Target/Party City look.

Expect the planning commission to rubber stamp this re- cheap-design...

But the Schenectady county voters said no to the casino referendum. We didn't want it then and I don't think that feeling has changed for most.

I wonder, if the governor is the one pushing this project, if he were to get arrested, would that bring the project to a halt? Or is it operating under its own steam by now? Bigger projects than this one, with fewer obstacles, have fallen through before.

Heard on the radio that the casino won't open till at least 2017.  Was that the initial timeframe?  See only big piles of dirt being pushed around the site.

The real dirt being pushed around is in bank accounts of the profiteers that will build the piece of crap.

Another redesign unveiled for Schenectady's new casino
    Updated: 07/09/2015 2:50 PM

By: WNYT Staff

Rush Street Gaming once again released new designs Thursday for Schenectady’s new Rivers Casino.

It follows another redesign that was proposed last month, which looked very different from the original proposal.

The company says these designs come from feedback with city officials, planners, and the community.

There is no change in footprint from the last proposal.

The designs have now been submitted to the Schenectady Planning Commission for approval.

The renderings of the proposed revised design, though vastly different from the initial, are okay.  I continue to question if the casino will make Schenectady a destination for any other than the low income city residents who will lose their paltry sustenance at the penny slot machines.

Well it will be smaller and have less amenities than both Turning Stone to the west and Springfield to the east, plus the Racino up north is expanding to compete.... how could things go wrong lol

IDK .....they 'so called' awarded the bid that included a design and an opening date.
That 'is' what was some of the considerations in the initial bid....yes?

NOW....the design has been changed TWICE and the opening date has been CHANGED!!

why are they taking job applications 1-2 years before the jobs are even available?
Publicity?
I do know for a fact that the businesses that are planning to locate there already have contracts.

There will be a job  'oportunity 'fair next Saturday at SCCC.

They probably wont be taking any job applications-
They will be letting you know the requirements for getting a gamiing badge in New York State-  they will be looking at your-

Arrest record
You will find out what the drug policy is. Some new casinos ban employees from smoking -EVER!!
They will most probably check for outstanding  irs and state tax debt

then your education and skill set
