Roger's articles in the paper, the ones where he's called out McCarthy for phony-baloney budget practices, have turned out to be 100% accurate. Roger will have to learn the differences between municipal management and running a tax-exempt, private entity, but he's already demonstrated that he "gets" the finance part, and McCarthy still doesn't.

as correct as this statement is.....exactly how many schenectadians even understand what a 'budget practice' is???
Most are renters and MANY landlords don't even live in the city.
Like I said before.....the deck has been stacked for decades.
why do you think Baltimore has been BLUE for decades?....case in point.

There is no comparison. Job history/education/awards all a slam dunk for Roger Hull. Since he left Union Hull has been established educational academies in poor neighborhoods
across the country. Years of cronyism, broken streets, lies about renaissance and job creation have caught up with the corrupt DEM machine. It will not be easy as
2,000 vote straight DEM line who matter how unqualified but it will happen. The comparison to Baltimore is apt especially with 40 years of DEM one party implosion.
But they gots Inner Harbor we gots a toxic casino site. George Amedore proved what happens when you get a second shot and your opponent has a pathetic record.

bt, I agree with you that few people understand the budget/finance part. For those that do, right there is the reason to vote for Hull over McCheese. There are quite a number of people who have misgivings about Roger, we went over that in detail the last time around, and there was a lot of interest, judging by the number of views the topic got. One man demonstrates basic competency in many important areas. The other one was an investigator who didn't know how to find the city's most prominent landlord.
I'm hoping that enough people who were on the fence last time around have had enough. I'm still working on getting some photos of some of the streets to post here. OMG, they don't look like anything you would expect to see in a first world city. There is no excuse for that.

What I can understand is at this point why aren't the potholes filled on the major streets.  There is one on Nott Terrace towards Union Street that just murders my front end and I have a truck.  It would literally take 2 minutes to fill.

We found it extremely bad on McClellan along side the high school, traveling north.

A co-worker of hubby who rides a bus said that riding on the streets of Schenectady could have done more damage to that Freddie Gray than what happened to him in Baltimore.  And if any police department wants to do some rough riding with some criminal, they should drive Schenectady streets because they are the worst.

It's true that most landlords don't live in the city, they collect that taxpayer funded rent check and even if they own a two family house, it's probably decrepit enough that the assessment is really low, so even getting $600 for each apartment (or charging non-public assistance tenants $600 a month) brings them $1,200 a month which is over $14,000 a year, and if the tax bill is $4,000, they still make out good.

Renters more often (even decent renters with decent landlords) don't have a clue about the connection between their rent and the city's taxes.

McCarthy's cronies and/or cheerleaders don't live in the city, don't even want to rent in the city, and the cronies get tons from the taxpayers.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

The strongman to the entire slate....and may be the one to carry this election is Vince Riggi.

Everyone likes and trusts him....the voters just may follow his lead with his support of the entire slate.

Just gotta hope the ones that support Riggi....out number the 'others'.

Try Altamont Ave and Fehr Avenue both major gateways to the City. DEMS have to drive on these McCheese roads. Renters have to get front end alignments and new shocks.
Is Hull perfect and right on every issue? NO but the difference could not be more stark. Roger Hull didn't sit on City Council for 24 years like Mayor McCheese trying to raise
taxes even higher than EVERY other fiscally incompetent DEM. Hull will win and roads, home resale values and finances are three big reasons why. 40 years is enough.
