Quoted from MOONGLOW
Just some random thoughts.   Curious to know what it would entail to "clean up" the GE site.   Even something "innocent" as lawn feriliizer when it washes into rivers, sewer systems pollutes the water system.   Which is why it is reccomended not to use fertilizer by a river, water supply.   Can imagine when the ALCO land flooded in the past all that contaminated soil washed away into the Mohawk and polluted the river that much more.

A funny thang happened on the way to the slot machines-no? A done deal. Another movie studio/condo community/Section 8 housing project. Schenectady's own bread and
circus. Just the thing to help take one's minds of exploding foreclosure and teenage pregnacy rates. An industrial site polluted for decades by ALCO. They don't know any history
or are in the bag or both. Flooding,  RPI nuclear reactor, toxic dump perfect for the casino. Taxes are now going up for infrastructure and cleanup. Bravo to Lauren Stanforth the
best reporter in the Capital District. Another one bites the dust.

So the Galesi spokesman said it's not them, but will we eventually be told of the source and if any fines? Wonder what will be dug up when they do the cutout for the harbor.   Will all that polluted soil find it's way into the river?

On Monday, October 20, 2014, I received a message through this website, asking me to investigate a rumor that the Applicant/Developer of the proposed Schenectady casino at the Old ALCO Plant site had discovered tunnels under the foundation of a building at the proposed casino location, and had asked the local media not to report on the discovery of the tunnels.  My subsequent investigation verified those two allegations, along with the fact that the Applicant never disclosed the existence of the tunnels to Metroplex, the Lead Agency in its SEQRA environmental review process, although they were discovered prior to the approval in August of the Draft Enviromenntal Impact Statement, and prior to the public comment period.  http://stoptheschenectadycasino.com/2014/10/29/a-tunnel-cover-up-at-alco/

Galesi will pay McTHIEF to get the state DEC to keep the source of the oil a secret, if it's found to come from the casino site.

If for any reason it's found to come from GE, then GE will get a huge assessment reduction even though they have been declared tax exempt by McTHIEF

I won't assign any blame now, I'll wait for a report.  If it's from the rich cronies of the dems, we most likely will never learn, it will be forever kept a secret.  If it's from some other business or even a residential home (like an oil tank for heating a house, can't imagine how, but one never knows), you can bet the city will come down on any poor schmuck non cronies with the heaviest hand.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
