Nice, yes?   (from the TU, did not see it in the Gazette unless I missed it)

SCHENECTADY — An administrator at Schenectady High School was injured Tuesday while trying to break up a fight, officials said.

The employee's name was not being released, but he is one of the four principals the district assigns to the freshman, sophomore, junior or senior classes, said Karen Corona, Schenectady City School District spokeswoman. It was unclear which group he worked with.

At dismissal a group of students started fighting and the administrator tried to break it up, she said. "He stepped in to prevent anyone from getting hurt."

While doing so, the man was hit by a student and injured, Corona said. The extent of his injuries was not available Thursday. He was out Wednesday and expected back at work Thursday, she said.

Schenectady police are investigating the incident, said spokesman Mark McCracken. No further details were provided.

Isn't it nice that McCarthy does not subject the children of his police chief to this stuff.  The hypocrite lying mayor, who stated publically that all department heads have to live IN the city, yet he allows his police chief to avoid living IN the city, avoid paying taxes IN the city, and does not force the chief's children to attend city schools.

More proof the mayor is totally incompetent.

just so we are clear here.....are you saying that if a rep mayor were in office....all department heads would be made to live in the city...REALLY?
Get real here.

it's not about 'party'.........it's the system.....which BOTH parties would operate in....the exact same way.....they would ALL be incompetent!!

WALK AWAY!!!!

My opinion is that they should live IN the city.

Doesn't matter whether a mayor is Dem or Rep, IF the mayor says (and says it repeatedly) that he wants his department heads to live IN the city, but then he (or she) does not make them live IN the city, that is what is wrong.  McCarthy stated on numerous occasions that he was going to make his department head live IN the city.  The previous assessor lived outside of the city and McCarthy fired her.   Olsen lived outside of the city and McCarthy allowed him to continue to live there.   There was a vacancy for Police Chief and McCarthy had stated on numerous occasions that department heads--which a police chief is--must live IN the city, but then he appointed the current police chief and did NOT require him to live IN the city.  The current police chief is exempted from paying taxes IN the city, he is exempted from sending his children to the cities schools.   McCarthy is a hypocrite.

AT THIS POINT......it's more important to concentrate on keeping children safe....where these people live has no bearing on what happened.......there is lack

of respect for any authority and the whole world is combative and aggressive....and to think that children are safe wherever is totally ignorant of the fact

that there is more concentration on casinos, State St..,,,,and decorating the city with a band aid???.....the problem with the school are the ethics and morals

these children are learning and it begins at home.....

so figure out a way to stop this then starting a dialogue about taxes, where to live., etc.....the children need to know they can go to school and be safe..

and have respect....

.......there is lack of respect for any authority ....

that's because we see many....NOT ALL.....authority figures as being corrupt, greedy, manipulative, control driven thugs.
and that goes from the president a-l-l - the - w-a-y down to the religious leaders, cops, teacher, parents, media, bosses, corporate owners and the list goes on!!!

I talked to a retired teacher of 30 years the other day....I asked this teacher...what has happened to these schools?
The teacher said that in 30 years s/he has seen the change.
Said there was more than enough blame to go around.
Said that some kids shouldn't even be in school.
Said some superintendents/principles shouldn't be.
Said some teachers shouldn't even be teachers.
Said some parents shouldn't be parents.
Said too much government involvement.

..........again....enough blame to go around.

A lack of respect for authority?  I would lean toward the character of the person as being the issue.  Gandhi and Jesus didn't have respect for authority.  It didn't make them bad people

over the past 30 years authority has been FORCED upon the kids...using fear, medications, psychiatry/ology......it's no wonder it's
backfired....when I look back I found it was all about the system and NOT about the sovereign human....

that's why mandatory testing/rating/evaluation is wrong.....those who sit at round tables in their suits with their soft padded hands and
fat bottoms really don't care about anything other than their own bottom line.....JOB SECURITY AND UNION SURVIVAL

a whole generation drugged up on legal amphetamines to 'make the grade' and get the raises for others.....

PATHETIC....

remember unions are no different than the government.....MOFIA FOR CONTROL AND PERCEIVED RIGHTEOUSNESS

phetamine use in adolescence can cause neurobiological imbalances and increase risk-taking behaviour, and these effects can persist into adulthood, even when subjects are drug free. These are the conclusions of a new study using animal models conducted by McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) researcher Dr. Gabriella Gobbi and her colleagues. The study, published in The International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, is one of the first to shed light on how long-term amphetamine use in adolescence affects brain chemistry and behaviour.

Developmental psychology
"We looked at the effects of long-term amphetamine use on important neurotransmitters and on risk-taking behaviour in adolescent rats," says Dr. Gobbi, a researcher in Mental Illness and Addiction from the Research Institute of the MUHC and associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. "The brain chemistry of these rodents is very similar to that of humans, so this model provided us with very useful insights into amphetamine use in a human population."
Amphetamine is a psychostimulant drug which produces increased wakefulness and focus, in association with decreased fatigue and appetite. This drug, commonly known as "speed," is also used recreationally and as a performance enhancer. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODOC) report (2011), more than 10 per cent of adolescents in the U.S. have used amphetamines. In Europe, between two and seven per cent of adolescents have tried amphetamines, and in Canada the number is estimated at just over five per cent.
Study subjects were given one of three dosing regimens of amphetamine during adolescence. When they reached adulthood, drugs were withdrawn and their neurophysiological activity and risk-taking behaviour were studied. "We focused on the key neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine," Dr. Gobbi explains. "We found abnormalities in brain activity associated with all three of these neurochemicals, called "monoamines." Imbalances of monoamines are associated with emotional disturbances and mental diseases such as depression or addiction."
Researchers also noted behavioural changes in all dosing groups. Hyperactivity was observed in rodents exposed to a moderate dose of amphetamine during adolescence, while risk-taking behaviour increased in every dosage group.
"Obviously we have to be very cautious about applying these results to a human population," says Dr. Gobbi. "However, given the basic similarities between human and rodent brains, these results are cause for concern. They suggest that the effects of amphetamine use can persist into adulthood, even if the subject is no longer taking drugs, and that these effects include a tendency toward risk-taking behaviour."
This paper was co-authored by Benoit Labonté (Master's student in Dr. Gobbi's lab during the study and currently at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute); Ryan McLaughlin (University of British Columbia, Psychology); Francis Bambico (Yale University, Molecular Psychiatry); Ilaria Lucchino (University La Sapienza, Physiology & Pharmacology); Sergio Dominguez-Lopez, Rafael Ochoa Sanchez, (McGill University, Psychiatry); Marco Leyton, Gabriella Gobbi (McGill University, Psychiatry and RI-MUHC).

who/what would you like to be in control?

having to learn how/why is/was an instinct.....there's nothing wrong with stimulating curiosity, unless of course
you fear 'different'.....

the who/what that you want to be in control will be a limit as to the depth of the how/why stimulation....

p.s.......you can't teach smart but you can put a price on it's value at the time....hence the 'control'

common core testing has more to do with getting rid of  older teachers than anything....we've been training the human
brain to work in a certain type of world for about 100 years....common core is a new way to train the brain for the singularity is upon
us.....

the future is here and it's coming fast

the future is already here.....and in some ways not a good thing.....children are not being children and having the necessary steps to grow into adulthood.

curiosity is great...stimulation is great.....but combing these is not a good thing...younger teachers are better?????..do you read the news and see what

happens in the schoolroom now???.....it isn't all good......teachers do not dress like teachers....no are their morals where they belong......and trying to

be friends is no way to gain respect...... seems like the curiosity is not with learning....and stimulation...well that's another story...

change is good....being different is good.....but trying to teach all kids on the same level???????   some of the finest entrepreneurs....scientists, doctors

and other productive male/female are from the old school......they grew into their success....with reading 'riting and 'rithmetic.....

like I said....the new entrepreneurs will not come from the old school....if what you are looking for is respect and morals and the
'rightness' of conformity then you are looking for a religion.... Joe is right....no matter what, the foundation IS from home
and it's not up to the teachers to instill that. But for some reason the old school of socialism was used made government
a religion......

LOL, senders quoting and then commenting on a patches comment. They're speaking in tongues I tell ya, they're speaking in tongues.

If anyone who's never experienced a patches or senders post were to stumble onto that one, there would be the one huge WTF!!!!!
