In the 70 's I drove a semi interstate for a while. I was on a " bomb/missle run ' hauling class A explosives.- old polaris missles from Sunny Point NC to Hawthorne Nevada ( without the warhead ) where they would burn them off.
EPA ? Ha ha- No hazmat certs no background checks- nothing except a drivers license. Very crazy now thinking back.
Thinking back as a kid to the 70's and the road past the old army depot between Altamont and Voorhesville, there were 10's of thousands of barrels of who knows what stored there for decades. There was always speculation but no confirmation about what was in those barrels. I am sure its the same for the depot in Rotterdam, the lands of GE and Knolls.
