The funny thing about Graham's statement is that it wasn't a "civil war". It was a war to prevent secession. The confederate states didn't seek to control the federal government, they wanted to leave the union. Graham is actually misinforming the electorate by continuing the "civil war" lie.
OK Cissy... (SIGH) If you say so. I've found that you seem unable to accept FACTS as FACTS, and insist on your own definitions for just about everything.
Let me show you what a Civil War is for everyone else: Civil War: a war between political factions or regions within the same country.

(sigh...) Really...Still reciting high school history lies?
The confederate states was not the "same country". They formed their own country, or the confederacy. And the Union waged war to prevent secession.
The Confederate States of America (CSA or C.S.), commonly referred to as the Confederacy, was an unrecognized confederation of secessionist American states existing from 1861–65.
civil war : a war between groups of people in the same country

It was still a civil war Civil War: noun 1. a war between political factions or regions within the same country. The US Civil War was waged to determine the survival of the Union or independence for the Confederacy. What it was not was a war about or to end slavery!
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!

The confederacy wasn't a political faction. It was a country with its own congress, making their own laws. It was a secessionist movement, not a civil war.
If New York State voted to leave the Union, and the federal government sent in the military to prevent it, it's not a civil war.

reading comprehension Sissy....regions within the same country You just want to rewrite everything your way, even though it's wrong!!! It was a CIVIL WAR....too bad you can't understand the simplicity of it! But then you would have to admit wrong or bow out because it doesn't fulfill your narrow minded agenda!

state a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government.

When the confederacy was formed... Weren't they a POLITICAL FACTION within the USA?

No, they were states within the voluntary union that seceded from the Union to form a confederacy. A state government isn't a political faction. There are multiple political factions within a state. The state's did not fight to control the union government(federal government). Each state voted to LEAVE the union and create a confederation of states.

SO again... when one of these (not yet) confederate states, were voting to leave the USA... (before they voted to leave) weren't they a political faction within the USA???

~A civil war is a war between organized groups within the same state or republic, or, less commonly, ~between two countries created from a formerly united state. ~ The aim of one side may be to take control of the country or a region, ~ to achieve independence for a region, or to change government policies.
Cicero. Read the above, and tell us again that the US Civil War, was not a "civil war"!

Ohhh...Now I get it. So based on your definition, the Vietnam and the Korean War were civil wars?
Yes they were.

Wow! So the USG actually fought and sacrificed Americans to prevent Vietnam from preserving their union? So the U.S. fought to preserve the secession of South Vietnam from the northern aggressors? Oh the irony. Box fought to defend a seceding state. D
I'm surprised the USG doesn't encourage South Korea to invade North Korea to unify the Korean Peninsula under the South's government. South Korea needs their Lincoln.
Box, see how Sissy-poo just does a sidestep because of his refusal to admit ERROR? Saw it coming from a mile away...only thing Sissy is good at...SISSY GAMES Now if you justify your points, he will then shift his reply in a totally different direction...
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!
Not sidestepping anything. Laughing at you and box's commitment to your civil war theory. I even posted the USMC monument that list it as "the war between the states". Lol
