Rotterdam liquor store robbed

ROTTERDAM — Police are investigating the robbery of a liquor store on Mariaville Road Friday night.

Shortly before 9 p.m., a masked man with a handgun robbed Country Wine and Spirits Store, according to police. A store employee told authorities that a man wearing a black mask and black coat, pointed a black handgun at her and demanded that she hand over money from the cash register, police said. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and drove off an unknown direction, according to the police account.

Anyone with information is asked to call Rotterdam detectives at 355-7397.

this was the crime I heard happen before going public.....Rotterdam seems to be the target for burglaries and holdups these days....

Robbery happened Friday.


WHY did it take the dem connected newspaper until today, Tuesday, for it to be reported in the news, in a dem ruled town, in a dem ruled county?

this is the behavior that is being experienced all over the county............why?................THERE ARE NO JOBS!!!!!
and the jobs that are out there are clearly paying below the average living wage!!!
desperate people take desperate measures.

oh....but all the jobs created with the government's help....hahahahahaha....

A half a billion dollars dumped into downtown and still you say no jobs?

The biggest issue in town is that Joe Villano asks members of a protected class tough questions. This robbery and all the others matter not.

you make statements just to protect what ever image you think is right....the REGIME has not done what was the best interest for the residents...

the crooks, drug dealers and anyone else that don't work...do their work by robbing....and it is a real threat in this TOWN....in fact the COUNTY.

They waited because they were running low on democratic ink. You know you just cant print with just any old ink. And dont forget about the paper. It is special Democrat paper- because the democrat ink will only stick to democrat paper.

Yup....ROTTENdam is beginning to look just like the City of Schenectady in a few ways......
crumbling infrastructure
increased crime
high taxation
no jobs
businesses closing
a RPD budget that would knock your socks off!!!
....and those are just for starters.
Sooooo now that you have this information....and if  you do live in ROTTENdam.....you are packing your bags....
cause i'm sure you don't want to become one of those whiners who do nothing but bit@h and moan!!

RPD needs a better salary and retirement package.  Crime will only stop if this happens.  Or at the very least, the paper will not report it, so you feel safer.

there's a number of reasons....but I have a question

does everyone truly think that having 'a job because you have to' makes one's life fun/happy/stable etc?

a job is not the end all.....should people rob? of course not....but it's not about people not wanting a job....somehow we ended up
thinking this is life in America because we are NOT the 1% so it becomes 'what we have to do'.....
