I hardly think that dry cleaning chemicals would be dripping off the clothes brought back from the dry cleaning plant to the pick up/drop off location.
Just look back at the 2nd post on the thread alleging that the place is full of dry cleaning chemicals and that somehow the proper procedures weren't followed to give it a clean bill of health environmentally. No proof just allegations.

jb, I understood your post. See my post, regarding an elementary school in a dry cleaning building, one should never assume that everyone has done their jobs properly, because the opposite often happens, especially when large sums of money are involved. Parents ASSUMED that it would be safe to send their kids to school in a converted building, but it wasn't. Wouldn't it have been considered safe to assume that everyone did their jobs properly when those "high-end" apartments were given the go-ahead at Union and Barrett? Been down there lately? It's all dug up, inside that high-end chain link fence. Better to let them know ahead of time that someone is watching.

Exactly what is wrong with raising questions? In my post, I've demonstrated what is wrong with NOT raising questions before the fact. Someone here BELIEVES the site was only a pick-up and drop-off site. That would be good. But was it? Does anyone know for certain? The proprietors of Union Inn learned the hard way about how diligent hotshot 'economic developers' can be. Oh, well, it's not our money. Oh, wait...IT IS!

When Matt Baumgartner opened Wolff's Biergarten, a restaurant with draft beer, a menu of authentic German food and a basket of peanuts on every table, Albany, New York's warehouse district wasn't a destination for the restaurant crowd. Today, there are at least five restaurants and bars in walking distance of the beer garden. Baumgartner, who owns six restaurants in the Albany area, sees similar revitalization potential on Erie Boulevard in Schenectady, where he and three business partners are opening the second Wolff's Biartenerg Wednesday. "It feels like this section of the street is starting to pop," he says. Baumgartner, Mark Graydon, Greta Graydon and Mark Fichera signed the lease for the building at 165 Erie Boulevard this spring and began renovating the space, formerly a KEM Cleaners. Baumgartner declined to say how much had been invested in the renovation. Most of the decor inside the restaurant was purchased at Silver Fox Salvage in Albany. It is furnished similarly to the Albany location with picnic tables lining the middle of the space and door frames and window boxes on the walls. By Tuesday, the restaurant was nearly ready for its Wednesday opening. Workers outside the restaurant assembled a flag pole for both the U.S. and German flag, while Baumgartner, Mark Graydon and Fichera, were inside, putting the finishing touches on the beer garden, which offers 24 draft beers and a menu with German sausage and pulled pork. The restaurant also has outdoor seating and parking. Graydon, the general manager at the Albany beer garden, says they've already had people stop by to visit without realizing the restaurant had not yet opened. The Wolff's Biergarten is Baumgartner's second restaurant in Schenectady. A Bombers Burrito Bar opened on State street in 2009. The two restaurants in Schenectady are among the six restaurants Baumgartner owns with various partners. He also owns or co-owns four restaurants in Albany, including the Bombers Burrito Bar, Wolff's Biergarten, Olde English Pub & Pantry and Sciortino's. His focus for the next year is building out Wolff's Biergarten in Schenectady (Baumgartner says he considers a restaurant successful when he stops by on a slower night, like a Sunday or Monday, and the place is busy), but the team will consider expanding the beer garden brand in the future.
