How about this FACT, this TRUTH about the city of Schenectady.

It is the SECOND MOST OVER-ASSESSED municipality in the whole state of New York.    That is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH

In the whole state of New York the ONLY municipality with assessments more over-assessed is the Town of Plainfield in Otsego Co.  That municipality is has an equalization rate of 128%.   However, another fact about Plainfield is that in 2013, the equalization rate was 122% so in one year from 2013 to 2014, property values only fell there by a mere 6%.

In Schenectady where some unintelligent people claim there is a grand renaissance, the equalization rate in 2013 was 108% and this year, 2014, the equalization rate has increased to 123% which means that property values FELL in the city by 15% in one years time.

But some cheerleaders keep praising the city/co/plex leaders, cheer for the wild uncontrolled spending on downtown (of which the tax dollars go to millionaires who do NOT LIVE IN the city and pay taxes)  while the city snubs the neighborhoods where the taxpayers live.

Interesting, the second most over-assessed city, property value falls massively, and the mayor and his buddy dems eliminated an absolutely essential service to the homeowners in the city, a service homeowners pay taxes for, that is, the dems REFUSE to do a reassessment.

Pass this along to everyone you know.   These truths will never make it into the news media because the mayor prohibits transparency in the city.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
