OK, so NOW, TODAY, October 8, 2014, businesses and perhaps some homeowners are planning their budgets for calendar year 2015 (January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015, and you are saying that school districts have already provided projections to businesses and homeowners of what the school tax bill WILL BE that we will receive in August 2015?
How come I have not yet received a projection on what Mohon's tax bill WILL be that we get in August 2015?
Can't answer that...don't know when school budget is done or when they have open meetings, etc. Maybe call Mohon office and ask!
School tax bills will be issued in August 2015 and payment will be due in September 2015. As of NOW, October2014, the government (school district) has not yet provided any projections of what the school tax bill that would be issued in August 2015 (10 months from now) to businesses, nor homeowners, so that the businesses or some homeowners could put together a budget for calendar year 2015.
Now past tense
School tax bills that were issued in August 2014 and payment was due in September 2014. As of October 2013, the government had not provided any projections of the school tax bill that would be issued in August 2014 (10 months off in the future) to businesses nor homeowners so that the businesses or some homeowners could put together a budget for calendar year 2014.
But you seem to saying that as of October 2013; actually September 2013 while the budget was being worked on, when McThief presented his 2014 budget, that the government (OSC) had already given the city a projection of what the pension bill would be in August 2014 (which would have been 11 months off in the future).
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

As I said, it seems logical that the city would have some sort of projection prior to putting together the budget that would include that payment. As I stated, I cannot find factual information to show "when does state give city projection". Thought that was clear?
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!

How else do you think the City knows what to budge for in 2014? DUH!!!! New projection shows city will have problem in 2015 budget based on info rec'd in 2014...isn't that what's been reported?
But I see NOTHING in that Gazette story that says that the state has already given projections to the city for the August 2015 bill.
That is the SAME thing as school district, a government entity. Businesses, NFP's, some homeowners (i.e, some homeowners might do a household budget for the whole year), are doing budgets NOW for calendar year 2015.
The government (school districts) has not provided projections for the bill that businesses, etc will receive in August 2015. So likely... the government (OSC) has not provided projections for the bill that Schdy will receive in August 2015.
The government (school district) budgets are finalized by vote (of the people) in May of 2015 to be billed in August 2015 The government -- state -- budget is finalized by vote (of legislators) in theory for April 1, 2015 to have the bill sent to the city in August 2015.
So the inability to pay the bill COULD have been poor analysis on the part of the mayor's financial people. And really, the mayor's financial people have bee quite incompetent, increasing taxes so much that the tax base is falling.

Coulda, wloulda, shoulda....GIVE IT UP DUDE! Are you really that thick and anal? You want to over analize the hell out of it? CALL THE CITY AND ASK FOR ANSWERS! FILE A FOIL! GEEZ, where's that life you claim to have?????

Well YOU were the one who stated that the city has gotten projections, and the projections would have had to be provided to then IN AUGUST 2013 when the city was working in September 2013 on the calendar year 2014 budget.
I merely questioned when these projections were provided, since YOU STATED the city had them, but obviously you know for a fact that they had them. And just like we do NOt have projections for the August 2015 school tax bills in time to work a calendar year 2015 budget, it is only logical that the mayor and his city finance people are somewhat incompetent at drawing up a budget.
Are you kind of embarrassed at your own inability to give accurate answers?

Not embarrassed at all. Are you embarrassed for not being able to understand what is written in a thread? Here it is again, JUST FOR YOU!!!!!

THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS.....................nobody is doing nuthin' about this.......nobody really gives a sh!t anymore!!!
it is what it is....the dems are in control and will be for probably another decade...if not more.
the reps are not only all about absent....they would pick up right where the dems left off...and don't think they won't.
the dems created this empire, and strategically might I add.
don't like it..........MOVE OUT!

Who cares about projections. The taxpayer will just pay for the $400,000 oversight, and if not, go to prison. What is to be debated? When the city informed the taxpayer how much they are forced to pay?
