On the island between Price Chopper and Central Parkway. Whoever is responsible deserves a round of applause. The choice of flowers with red tones is especially nice, as there are several red brick houses in that vicinity and it really brightens up the whole area. Someone has excellent taste and is a really hard worker. It's looking especially striking now that the leaves are beginning to turn on the trees.

As this is city property, what is the city's liability if some volunteer got hurt? I think commissioner Bennett said something at a council meeting recently about the city's animal shelter that they cannot allow the animal people to volunteer at the shelter to feed the dogs, clean, etc because of liability issues. Are there two different laws for city property?

What is particularly sad is how the city workers are hammering the new granite curbing with the backhoes. Every single granite curbed island has the granite smashed out on the ends. Look at Wright Ave and Eastern Parkway for example.
Wonder if this damages the backhoe also.
