This is a great story, glad to see there's still some humanity out there. Thanks for posting.
I thought it was worth posting, because it is a great story. The wedding is today, and Channel 6 will be there. I'm assuming the other local stations will be there as well. |

you are kidding here....right? You might as well join the dems!!!!!!! you make EVERYONE out to be a friggin' victim!!!! Morris MAKES the volunteers pay him??? ; They have NO CHOICE???? PALLLLEEEZZZZEEEE... ....not to mention...most 'volunteer' just to see the shows....we know many of them...and they ain't bit@hin about it either. Hey...here's an idea....tell ALL the volunteers to quit.....see how that works out.
Yep, the volunteers can see the show while they are across the arcade in the gift job. They can sell food AND be sitting down watching a show. Yep, volunteers can come and sit there and watch the whole show, they can leave the gift shop unattended, they can leave the concession stand while people are in line. Yeah sure. With the tens of millions in taxpayer money Proctors has gotten, and with the 100% permanent tax exemption, and with the county paying Morris' his quarter million dollar salary, there is no need whatsoever to make volunteers pay. No volunteers do not have a choice. If they wish to volunteer, they have to pay. If they don't pay, they don't volunteer. |

It is a great story. And donations from all over the country. But right here in Schenectady, King Philip could not offer the taxpayer funded beautiful wedding banquet Key Hall for the reception. Donations from all over the country, but selfish Morris wouldn't even dream about doing something for a poor Schenectady taxpayer with cancer |

Um, Proctors and Key Hall are "not for profits" which means they are to serve the poor in the community.
There is no requirement for a not for profit organization to serve the poor. It just means the organization used it's surplus revenue to meet its goals rather than dispute them as profits or dividends. There are no moral stipulations as to what the goal may be. Organizations such as the Masons, Elks clubs, many country clubs are not for profit--hardly organizations that are helping the poor. |

It is a wonderful thing that this couple is able to get married and have an opportunity to enjoy life together even if only for a short time.
Shame on those who are trying to politicize this issue and this thread. |

Agree. And, correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't MVP not for profit also? |

here we go...can a blog ever be without the politics and critiques??? not when you have BT and MC trying to put down a good deed....without
bringing in what they call "selfish"....did they donate???.....
These two have the emotions of a shark and attack whenever they feel to feed their frenzy...
God bless those who chose to do a good deed.....wishing them all the congrats in the world....

Excuse me, NOT trying to politicize it. Donations are coming from ALL OVER THE COUNTRY!!!! So explain WHY a tax exempt not-for-profit should not make the Key Hall available for a reception. Awww, poor DV, he's crying because so many good people all over the country have made donations, but his THIEF HERO King Phillip refuses to donate and it's very embarrassing for DV to acknowledge that. |

Well, I know people who volunteer there and they have to stay at their stations including in the gift shop. But for those that do volunteer and see a show now and then they are saving King Phillip a ton of money, so why should he make money off of them? Many are ushers, the CANNOT sit in the chairs, people DO get up and use the rest room and the volunteers can't just tell people to go find their own seats and walk in the dark. |
