NOT JUSTIFICATION...get real! The protests were an opportunity for those that had no interest other than to loot and destroy...hoping the riots would be sufficient distraction so they wouldn't be caught!
Distraction and drama.
How original.
Government paid assassin kills someone and your concern is the collateral damage.
Due process is the American way.
For people here at home or anyone abroad.
Not bombing families and villages in their sleep or killing a kid in St Louis for not kneeling before his masters.
Public executions have become acceptable by all police departments.

SO you are saying the looting is not a by-product because the authorities were busy with attempting to minimize the crowd anger? You're saying that the riots were not a distraction that allowed criminal activity? Now that is PRICELESS IDIOCY from the Spitter himself! You just jump off the cliff with your comments and blow them up into a world war crisis. Better hope they don't implement the draft again....oh wait, that's right, you already tried and were denied!!!!
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!

you're agreeing that people will loot to survive or 'just for fun' when the normalcy of their life is interrupted by a military force into their community....collateral damage....
you believe that humans should be well trained animals from cradle to grave?
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS

So is it your opinion that riots and looting was not a genuine reaction to the authorities shooting an unarmed teen, but was rather contrived outrage so people can steal?

No, and I never said anything like that...where do you come up with this BS? The looting was a criminal activity done by criminals who were taking advantage of the riots that were protesting the sad death of a human being. GOT IT?
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!
joe,,,,you're more human than the military allows you to believe
Your comment is confusing....I'm not in the active military, but I will not shy away from idiots that want to attack my service. and me for having served. Being in the Military defines something I've done, but having been in the military does not define me...but did influence me.

I am not attacking your choice of a job....I'm simply saying that there are no 'orders' outside the military life style
you're more than soldier with much more to offer no matter what the military taught you....simple

you were born a free human(and I say this meaning outside of man made laws/constitutions) you were trained into a soldier by another human
I'm not attacking

That's why it was in the form of a question.
Now, just so you don't take this as putting words in your mouth. I will again form this as a question.
Is it your opinion, that those people involved in the looting would otherwise be stealing or involved in other criminal activity if there were no riots? In other words, the people looting had a predisposition to steal anyways.

Any opinion beyond what I have stated would be an assumption or guess, which would not be a fair comment since I do not know them or their background history when it comes to criminal activity. I can only state my "opinion" that in the case of Ferguson, criminal types took advantage of the riots to line their pockets. That to me is an insult to the family of the child that was killed and to the people that were genuinely protesting. Criminals are opportunists and will take advantage every chance they get to line their pockets. In this case it was the protests of the people in Ferguson, and I am confident the criminal types weren't really as interested in protesting as they were to stealing.

I can agree that there were most likely a criminal element involved in the looting. But I also believe that many also participated in the violent looting because they were genuinely outraged and as an expression of the outrage(though misguided) they destroyed and looted vulnerable targets in the town. Many may have justified stealing as a form of justice against a perceived injustice that they feel powerless to.
I haven't been to Ferguson, but just basing my opinion on the reports describing the citizens relationship with police. I get the feeling the people don't have much faith in petitioning their town council members or addressing issues through the legal system to bring about the change they are looking for. When the political channels do not appear to work, I think people resort to this behavior. Even the non criminal may act irrationally when you feel there are no other options.
When time and time again, the legal system justifies a cops use of force and homicide to defend themselves from unarmed people. The people on the receiving end of the force are going to begin acting outside of the legal system to look for justice.
