First, I didn't say that the entire road was upgraded.

The $11 million project involved the area from I-890 to Liberty Street.  ALL of the infrastructure (water, sewr, etc) was upgraded IN THE PROJECT AREA.  That was a project well worth undertaking.

Getting the $11 million of Federal funding was huge deal for the City-County of Schenectady.  The project is an important first step towards revitalizing the Lower State Street and Erie Boulevard Corridor --- which by the way will have positive benefits on the neighborhoods (Stockade, College Park, North Side) surrounding it.

Your last statement is absolutely false.  The leaders of the City-County of Schenectady are interested in ALL of the community.

Now I will stand corrected, in your other post, i.e., response to mine, I believed you were speaking of the complete Erie Blvd.   That did actually puzzle me because I knew for a fact that on the other side of the RR bridge there was nothing in the way of watermains done.

But that makes it worse.   The break occurred in the part of Erie Blvd that was NOT redone.

And that proves even more that the city-county-plex dems are STEALING from the taxpayers.

Money TOTALLY WASTED on STUPID UNNECESSARY FANCY LIGHTING, TREES, AND ISLANDS and NOT ONE BIT of that was needed.   The money spent on STUPID and UNNECESSARY FANCY LIGHTING should have been used on the ESSENTIAL, VITAL, NECESSARY re-do of the water mains on the other side of the RR bridge.

And AGAIN, all that stupid fancy lighting, trees, and islands has NOT IN ANY WAY helped the city's tax base.   And I DEFY YOU, DV, to provide one teeny weeny bit of EVIDENCE that proves that project has increased the city's tax base!!!!!!!!!!!!     Property values are falling massively.   Or are you blind to the falling home sale prices, the successful certiorari cases, etc?

Obviously, you do NOT know what you are talking about.  During the Erie Blivd project ALL of the infrasture (water, sewer, storm drains, etc.) was completely upgraded.  The road bed was rebuilt and the paved.
The islands, lights and trees were only the "icing on the cake."

You whined and screamed like a spoiled 2 year old brat when the road was in bad shape.  Now, you whine and scream like a spoiled 2 year old brat when it has been completely upgraded.  That is why you have absolutely no credibility.

And um once again, you have PROVED your inability to read, inability to comprehend what you read.   I spoke ONLY of the portion of Erie Blvde north of the RR bridge that was in bad shape!!!!!!!!!!!!!    And it is STILL in bad shape.

Look at YOUR WORDS, YOUR VERY OWN TYPING :    "when it has been completely upgraded."   I DEFY you to produce the link to where I stated that the portion south of the RR bridge was in bad shape.   Come on DV, I DEFY you to produce an OUNCE of EVIDENCE.

YOU are the one who lacks ANY CREDIBILITY !!!!!!!!!!     YOU are the one who has REPEATEDLY stated that taxes are lower now than in the 1970's but to this day you have NOT PROVIDED ONE ITSY BITSEY TEENY WEENY SHRED OF EVIDENCE of that statement.   Therefore YOU are the one who lacks ANY CREDIBILITY.

AND, tell us DV, what is the return the taxpayers are getting in exchange for their FORCED "investment" in downtown???????

Are they seeing their home values rise?    PROVE IT
Are they seeing home sales increase?    PROVE IT
Are they seeing an increase in the tax base?    PROVE IT
Are they seeing an increase in essential city services?   PROVE IT.
Are they seeing a reduction in their tax BILLS?    PROVE IT.

I was wondering if anyone would eventually ask the question..... isnt it funny that this "leak" is occuring in an area where Galesi's Alco project is water starved?  Anyone find it interesting that all the heavy equipement convieniently working on the Nott Terrrace and Union Street "water leak" was moved down to fix the Nott Street and Erie "leak"?

Are you suggesting someone caused this leak to somehow benefit the Alco project?

Hmmm. Interesting.   After all, the billionaire Galesi has a PERMANENT tax exemption on his ALCO property (and I provided the evidence of no end date)   AND despite Galesi having so much money that he could pay out of his own pocket to demolish and rebuild the whole city of Schenectady and not become anywhere near bankrupt, the mayor McTHIEF has decided to increase taxes on the financially struggling homeowners in the city and making the largely lower income families pay for the demo of Galesi's old DSS building.

So maybe there is something to that thought.  Taxpayer expense of course.   The dems of course tax the poor to give to Galesi.   The taxpayers have a birthright entitlement to a complete in depth but plain language list of all money Galesi and his hundreds of companies under different names are giving to the dems in the city and county

how do you get ahead in Schenectady?

Upgraded?   Then why did they fail?

But there was ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO NEED for taxpayer funded fancy lighting, islands, or trees   The water mains and sewer drains IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS WHERE THE TAXPAYERS LIVE need attention more than ASBOLUTELY STUPID UNNECESSSARY FANCY LIGHTING.

Notice that the redo of Erie Blvd has ABSOLUTELY NOT IN ANY WAY helped the city since the tax base has fallen big time---and you cannot and will not provide one itsy bitsy teeny weeny shred of evidence to contradict the massively falling tax base since taxpayer money has been flushed on downtown!

Apparently, you are as dumb as I think you are.  The pipes that failed were NOT in the area that was upgraded.
Your obsession with the lighting is clearly part of your pathological hatred for the city and its leaders.  The lighting chosen MATCHES the lighting along State Street and is intended to make the improved areas look more uniform -- instead of some mish mosh of lighting.  The cost of the street light fixtures is a fairly small amount of the entire budget for the project.  The new light certainly looks better than the light fixtures that they replaced.

Excuse me, but DV you have ONCE AGAIN proven your total INCOMPETENCE in reading and reading comprehension !!!!

After I initially responded I then read your subsequent post:

You wrote:

And then I responded:

So DV, why don't you go back and read the rest of that subsequent post of mine !!!!!

And DV, do you have the GUTS to answer WHAT the UNNECESSARY "FANCY LIGHTING" has provided as a return to the TAXPAYERS in their NEIGHBORHOODS ?????????

Tell us DV, all that "fancy lighting"   What has it done for the tax base in the city?????    You don't have the GUTS to answer that!   Curious, did you have the GUTS to read the latest report -- that showed how BOTH home sales AND prices in the city are STILL FALLING ?????

Did you read that post or were you too chicken to see the TRUTH????

Tell us DV, all that "fancy lighting"  What has it done for property values in the city?   For home sales?   For home sale prices?   For alleviating the CRUSHING tax burden on homeowners in the city?    What has this "fancy lighting" done to reduce the number of tax foreclosures in the city?   What has it done to the tax BILLS of homeowners?   Is fancy lighting more important than reducing the CRUSHING tax bills on poor homeowners?   Is fancy lighting on Erie more important than the city maintaining the foreclosed houses?    Is fancy lighting more important than reducing taxes in order to prevent foreclosures?

Do you have the GUTS to answer those questions and tell us why the "fancy lighting" was such a necessity?

They just replaced 100 yards of water main from Nott Terrace and Union St. up to Union Avenue.

But at the intersection of Nott Terrace and Union St water has been pouring out of the ground for the past week.

It's on the corner of the same block as Denny's and the water runs down the Union St hill towards Seward Pl.

It's less than 10 ft from the new asphalt they put down replacing the water main on Union St.

(yawn)  same old sh*t from the nayboobs - just a different day

Awwe, the 52 year old mamas' boy who has yet failed to launch can't handle the fact I stated that "I stand corrected."   he can't even include the post with that quote.

And now he cannot respond and address whether fancy lighting or watermains are more important to the taxpayers.   He can't respond to what the homeowners in the city are getting in return for their forced investment on fancy lighting on Erie.   He can't address what the fancy lighting is doing for the tax base in the city.

Notice how, when he is confronted with being once again being unable to produce one teeny weeny shred of EVIDENCE of how the wild spending on downtown is helping the city , he merely resorts to the usual of babble saying "same old sh*t, different day," and the lame term "nayboobs."  And of course there's that yawn too.

Gee, you would think that after 4 years posting on here that he could at least find ONE piece of EVIDENCE to that the focus on downtown is providing a positive return to the homeowners and their neighborhoods where the taxpayers actually live (such as an improvement in the tax base, increase in property values, increase in home sales, increase in home sale prices, increase in essential services to the residents, reduction in tax foreclosures, reduction in taxes on the poor homeowners with an increase in taxes on the millionaires who can afford to pay more, etc.   But NOPE, after 4 years, he cannot provide one shred of evidence that proves any return for the homeowners, the taxpayers and the neighborhoods in which they live..

Waiting for another usual yawn
