SCHENECTADY-- Schenectady Police say Erie Boulevard is closed to traffic between Nott and Monroe streets due to a water main break.

All tractor trailer traffic on Erie Boulevard is restricted from State Street north to Nott Street.

Tractor trailers are encouraged to use Route 50 to State Street (Route 5).
Police do not say how long the closure will last.

Horrible location for that to happen! Folks going to and from Scotia/Glenville will have to take the bridge! That'll be fun!

Water mains in Schenectady do not need attention.

Taxpayers money must be spent on gin mills and to pay the taxes of the billionaire Galesi

and of course, it was just a life or death necessity to spend taxpayers money on "fancy lighting" on Erie Blvd.   Yep, the fancy lighting was a life or death emergency, far more important that tax dollars spent on police in the neighborhoods where the taxpayers actually live.

Fancy lighting, islands, and trees - much more important than water mains and sewers.

You are incorrect.

We are victims.

Having the choice between which person rapes you because of those who control the electoral process is not a real choice.

We didn't choose to be raped and pillaged.

The choices were made on our behalf.

Their still are no choices.

All elections are run by the same people who profit from either result.

Obviously, you do NOT know what you are talking about.  During the Erie Blivd project ALL of the infrasture (water, sewer, storm drains, etc.) was completely upgraded.  The road bed was rebuilt and the paved.
The islands, lights and trees were only the "icing on the cake."

You whined and screamed like a spoiled 2 year old brat when the road was in bad shape.  Now, you whine and scream like a spoiled 2 year old brat when it has been completely upgraded.  That is why you have absolutely no credibility.

The entire road has not been upgraded...only the section approaching and close to the Proctors corridor....par for the course for the City

First, I didn't say that the entire road was upgraded.

The $11 million project involved the area from I-890 to Liberty Street.  ALL of the infrastructure (water, sewr, etc) was upgraded IN THE PROJECT AREA.  That was a project well worth undertaking.

Getting the $11 million of Federal funding was huge deal for the City-County of Schenectady.  The project is an important first step towards revitalizing the Lower State Street and Erie Boulevard Corridor --- which by the way will have positive benefits on the neighborhoods (Stockade, College Park, North Side) surrounding it.

Your last statement is absolutely false.  The leaders of the City-County of Schenectady are interested in ALL of the community.

And your last statement is an absolute joke....what about Mt Pleasant, Bellevue, eastern ave/eastern pkwy, not to mention Hamilton hill? Those neighborhoods are f'ing warzones and YOU know it. Anyone that could have left, HAS LEFT....some abandoning property they could not sell. The ones that remain have no choice...they can barely afford the bus fare downtown, let alone have money to patronize the businesses built and supported ON THEIR BACKS!!!!!!

Upgraded?   Then why did they fail?

But there was ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO NEED for taxpayer funded fancy lighting, islands, or trees   The water mains and sewer drains IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS WHERE THE TAXPAYERS LIVE need attention more than ASBOLUTELY STUPID UNNECESSSARY FANCY LIGHTING.

Notice that the redo of Erie Blvd has ABSOLUTELY NOT IN ANY WAY helped the city since the tax base has fallen big time---and you cannot and will not provide one itsy bitsy teeny weeny shred of evidence to contradict the massively falling tax base since taxpayer money has been flushed on downtown!
