After getting TENS OF MILLIONS in tax dollars to reno Proctors, and then at $25 MILION budling paying NO TAXES, it's CEO LIES in a legal document about owning a second house with a STAR exemption, LIES ON A LEGAL GOVERMENT DOCUMENT and so gets financial benefit - THAT IS OH SO POSITIVE

you have to be smart enough to know that we would be having this same discussion if it were the reps in control...right?
what are  you going to do to abolish the METROPLEX/GILLEN?
vote for a rep???
maybe if you are good friends with a rep, and they get into power, they can create a patronage job for you too!!!
cause that's exactly what would happen!

at least when Generous Electric was here...they knew how to run a city. (and they did!!!!!)
you wanna talk corruption???????????
Generous Electric RAN THE POLITICIANS!!!!
now they are gone and the city folks don't have a friggin' clue!!!

The other problems in our community - vacant buildings, obsolete & aging housing,

YEP, THESSE HOUSES ARE A MAJOR PROBLEM.   YES, TEAR THESE OBSOLETE HOUSES DOWN.    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe some 52 year old who has failed to launch into adulthood and can't buy a house is jealous and just can't handle it so says these houses are old, obsolete and must be torn down.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.

First....I do NOT support ANY METROPLEX/GILLEN supported establishment, including non-profits!!!(including price chopper) NONE!!!!!
Second....I do most of my shopping out of Schenectady County so they don't get my sales tax revenue.
Third.....I would come out of my 'no voting' closet and vote for a candidate who campaigns on abolishing the METROPLEX/GILLEN.
(but i'm sure that ain't happening too soon)

And for the first time in history UNDER THE CITY, COUUNTY AND (ROTTERDAM) TOWN DEM LEADERSHIP, GE has received a 100% tax exemption !!!!!

10 years of exemptions.   That means over the ten yeas, the FINANCIALLY STRUGGLING TAXPAYING HOMEONWERS in the city will have to pay A WHOPPING $14 MILLION DOLLARS to the city school district (that calculation is based on this school year's tax rate and no tax increase for the next 10 years

CHEER CHER    Financially struggling homeonwers will pay the tax bill for a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY !!!!!!!!!!!!!   WHOO WHOO, YES!

Very nice. Now all you have to do is convince everyone else to do the same.

Good luck with that.

Proctor's is not packed every night. It barely scrapes by and some shows barely fill 10% of the room. The production costs are enormous and if not for
100% of the hotel occupancy taxes in the County being flushed there would shut all doors. Oh yeah, they refuse to pay ANY PILOT that Union, Ellis and Boys and Girls Club all pay. BTW, how is Mexican Radio doing? Another great Metrograft production. Never seen so many horrible reviews on YELP. Enjoying paying for your chips and salsa. Only in
Schenectady. Death Ray has closed all the last retailers Downtown and continually lies about job creation. County jobs are down thousands since he was named czar. Yes,
Metrograft was a Farley creation but the original czar was an IND and did not politicized every decision.

It's worse now. And anyone who speaks the truth is too "negative". Downtown is a retail free disaster with one tax giveaway after another but beautiful facades/curbing.
Meanwhile the ghettos have exploded up Eastern all of Mt P and across State, down Van Vranken. Lower State looks like London after the war with DMV patrons trying to weave
through barricades. Got renaissance?

and what makes you think it would be any different under rep rule?
ge would threaten to leave 100%...and the reps would cave too!!!!!
come on now!!

Look and see what the tax exemption and tax incentives Global Foundries got...and that was Saratoga!!!

I'm not agreeing with any of it....but don't be fooled into thinking this is just a dem thingy....k?

Every single thing  you say is true....but what plan do the reps have to turn this thing around? Abolish the METROPLEX/GILLEN???? All I hear are crickets!!

And that is NOT A VALID REASON to make financially struggling homeowners in the city pay the taxes on the $25 million buidling

I hear you there.   However, homeowners are getting a big return up there.   Home values up, sales up, and taxes much lower.

REALLY???? Well guess what.....YOU PAID WITH YOUR TAX DOLLAR FOR GLOBAL FOUNDRIES IN SARATOGA TOO!!!! And you ain't gettin' squat for it. Both dems and reps at the state level voted for millions and millions of dollars of STATE money to go to Global Foundries. And do you know who OWNS Global Foundrys???

And Saratoga didn't put all it's eggs in one basket...so to say....like Schenectady did with Generous Electric!!! They left and we sunk....JUST LIKE DETROIT!!!

Sorry MC1...it ain't just a dem thingy!!!
