My polling site used to be in walking distance, now it's been changed to a site much farther. Heard Ms. Voris mention the same at the council meeting.

It's probably called "consolidation."    DV claims to know all about that, says it will save tons of money.

Is there really anything out there worth voting for?

Of course, avoid any comment, such as the FACT that polling sites have been changed and people must go further.

In DV's ideal world, consolidation to one polling site for the whole county would be the best, i.e, make it more difficult for citizens to vote

Do we kind of remember DV not criticizing the inability of homebound taxpaying homeowners to vote by absentee ballot on some issue, maybe it was a vote on a fire dept issue, can't remember offhand

There is another way of looking at this issue.  The old polling places may have been too far away from some voters and the new ones are now closer to them.
I don't think that the B.O.E. changed polling places to make life difficult for anyone.  I know that some places that used to be willing to "host" a polling place are no longer willing to.  So file this is just another example that one should expect change during his or her lifetime -- change is an unavoidable part of life.
