UPDATE: Water main break on Union street has been fixed. It was about 6inches, and caused substantial damage. The break is a private business owners problem, it was located on The Creative Advantage Inc's property. Union between Lafayette and Barrett will be open to traffic, but it may be slow going. The private business owner will now need to hire a plumber and fix the damage

Pretty weird for a residents water main break to need about 50 to 100 foot of 6 to 8 inch pipe and a 20 by 30 foot wide 12 foot deep hole in a intersection. Just sayin'

gotta blame someone... must be the 1/2 football field sized lateral....6 inch pipe can carry lots of water
we had a 6"inch main supply pipe break near us when we lived in colonie took out our driveway{40+feet swallowed 5 feet down} in about 2 min. and filled our basement in about another 2...the mess was incredible
Gee, not all that far from the project that destroyed that Union Inn buiding.
