"According to old traditions Mary was born in Jerusalem. Joachim is said to have been the owner of a home in the vicinity of the temple, more precisely near the Sheep Gate and its pool called in Hebrew Bethesda. There is a grotto nearby believed to be the place where Mary was born. The grotto became later the crypt of a church dedicated to St. Ann. In the third century a small chapel dedicated to Mary was built in the vicinity of the Bethesda pool. Empress Eudokia (348-460) had a basilica erected at this same site. Subsequently, various pilgrims (for example Theodosius, ~530) mentioned the existence of a Mary-Church close to the pool of Bethesda. Sophronius, patriarch of Jerusalem (634-63 celebrates in poetry and song the same pool as the place where St. Ann gave birth to Mary. In 1150 the crusaders, prompted by Queen Alda (widow of Baldwin I), built the church in honor of St. Ann which still exists in spite of a very difficult history."
There are some who say Mary was born in or near Nazareth. The Bible does not say where she was born.

Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man ... living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money.”

I agree with Carlin! Funnier yet, government convince people that it's ok to steal, as long as it is done though a democratically elected government. Talk about crazy!

As long as they keep those veteran exemptions so they can steal a little bit less from the state muscle and steal a little more from everybody else. We need ethical and moral thievery.
Christianity - you don't tithe, you go to hell.
Government - you don't tithe, you go to prison.(tithe is 1/10, government is about 3/10)

STEAL??? HUH. I thought that Veterans exemptions and senior exemptions were voted on by the public in their municipalities... and won by a large margin.
That's the way it was in our community.

Yeah...I clarified the faith in democratic theft. You can have a clear conscience stealing when it's done democratically. It's a brilliant belief system.

Cissy's problem isn't with the exemption... it's with the fact he will never be eligible for it.
I wonder if Cicero takes exemptions for his kids when he fills out his income tax??? Or deducts interest on his mortgage??? Or (as if he would actually donate to anything) if Cicero deducts his charitable deductions???

Glad to see you aren't denying the theft and justifying the steps to reduce the theft.
