Is this an Empire Zoned area?
Will there be 100% taxation?
Remember...the folks who owned the land before was paying 100% tax...yes?
What will the tax revenue be now?
If the METROPLEX/GILLEN is involved....ROTTENdamians better hang on to their wallets...cause 'Schenectady..here we come'!!!!

Additionally, the state Department of Transportation plans to use a $5 million federal grant in taxpayer money for streetscape improvements, which typically includes repairs to roads and adjoining buildings, planting trees and creating open spaces.

What on Hamburg Street is getting repaired?  What adjoining buildings, in other words, we taxpayers will be paying for private buildings to be fixed?   Trees?  What open spaces?  Only think I see is the empty lot across from Sunoco.

$5 million for that?

No sidewalks?

This is great news for ALL of Schenectady - not just the one town.  A private company investing $2 million in improving this property and a local company expanding its operation by locating there.  This follows on the heels of Stewart's investing money in building a beautiful new store just down the street.  And - can't forget the improvements made at The Redwood Diner and the new Brown Bag sub and sandwich shop opening.  Then there the state grant to put in new sidewalks.
The snowball is starting to roll and the Hamburg Street Corridor should be seeing more good news in the months ahead.

Tens of thousands of TAXPAYER dollars move people around the corner.

There is NOTHING in the news about sidewalks.   So is the state going to put in sidewalks and then they will be ripped up for sewers?   Or are sewers going to go in and all of us on this side of town will be ordered to hook into it at huge expense?

Of course, no answer.

And tell us DV, will this be just like the "investment" of lots of taxpayer dollars into downtown Schenectady which has caused a HUGE DROP in downtown property values (EVIDENCE has proven it) and a MASSIVE REDUCTION of the city's tax base?

Or you ready to discuss the massive reduction in the city's tax base yet?   Are you ready to DISCUSS how the lavish spending of taxpayer dollars in downtown is causing home values to fall, the tax base to fall, taxes to go up, essential services to be eliminated, etc.?    Are you willing to discuss how wild spending of taxpayer money in the town is going to do to the town what it has done in Schenectady (remember ALL the evidence has proven that the taxpayer spending is ruining the city)

Are you willing to discuss the FACTS or are you going to just forever spew babble cheering for higher taxes on taxpayers because you, DV, are so miserable and jealous of taxpayers because you are not normal enough to be an independent, self sufficient taxpaying adult?

Federal grants simply come out of our other pocket.

It's just another layer of government spending on private businesses paid for by the taxpayers.

Spending goes up, property values go down.

When Metroplex paid(bribed) Villa Italia to leave Hamburg St, it wasn't.

And this will result in another UNOCCUPIED property when they move FROM.   And of course a taxpaying property will be come vacant and decrepit and non-taxpaying, and the Grand Union property will become tax exempt.

Well DV, since you are NOT a taxpayer you do not understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the building (Grand Union) was vacant, but spending almost $100,000 of TAXPAYER money to create a vacant property around the corner is NOT a wise use of taxpayer money.

As you are NOT a taxpayers, you do not know the FACTS.   When a building becomes vacant, it's value is reduced.  Secondly, the values of the neighboring properties neighboring the current (soon to be old) location will have their property values reduced!!!!!

So the "return on investment" of the spending of $100,000 of taxpayer money will be a reduced tax base and no new jobs.

Why do you even bother posting DV, because you do NOT have any comprehension whatsoever of the losses that taxpayers suffer as a result of government entities and metroFRAUD  STEALING from us who are taxpayers.

Why do you bother to even post, DV when all you do is cheer for spending the taxpayer money and NEVER engage in discussion based on the FACTS you NEVER produce a shred of evidence of anything you post.  Nothing but babble, fairy tales, and lies.

You don't have the GUTS to state what the residents in the city have gotten in return for the theft of their money.   You don't have the GUTS to engage in DISCUSSION of the city's tax base that has resulted from the wild UNNECESSARY UNCONTROLLED spending of TAXPAYER money on downtown.

You don't have the GUTS to engage in DISCUSSION of the resulting blight spreading like wildfire throughout the city's neighborhoods as a result of all the spending on downtown,

This has been in the plans............l-o-n-g before METROPLEX/GILLEN got involved.
So why METROPLEX/GILLEN is involved now doesn't make sense....UNLESS.......there is an alliance between plank & METROPLEX/GILLEN....perhaps?
