The only places they fix is where the money is and power resides.. The re-do Erie Blvd and leave the road past Union st a friggen mess. The spend 500K on a park that JUST happens to be in McCheeses neighborhood, while parks in Mt Pleasant and other places are left to the drug dealers.

That's not the family price, that's the per person price. If you buy three or less tickets there is a price per ticket, four or more tickets are a higher cost per person. It is also higher per month if you don't do an upfront $20 per person. I just went through the whole sign up and did everything but actually run it through with my card, and he total for 4 people without having to put down a deposit (per person) was $38 and change a month for a minimum of 12 months.

The city budget for parks and pools in Schenectady is about $833,000 for 2014. Based on the census numbers, 26.3% of Schenectady is under the age of 18. That comes out to 17,358 children in the city of Schenectady. So that is about $48 per child per year, or $192 for a family of 4. So it already costs $50 a year to provide your kids with a park. When you spread the cost to every city resident, that's $12 per resident.
More than children use the parks, especially ones that are kept up. When safe the elderly use them, people with dogs, lovers on picnics, sports enthusiasts, etc. Tuesday in the park use to be packed. The tennis matches-use to be packed. Schenectady parks were used by a large portion of the city populace until they became drug havens filled with pedophiles and discarded needles.
Maintaining safe parks are a benefit to all in the community and are a good use of public funds. There needs to be safe places for people to be able to congregate, play, run, that is accessible to all regardless of their wealth.

PROOF you do NOT enter the city because the ONLY roads that are being fixed are the downtown golden paths leading to all the buildings owned by millionaires and built for them by the city leaders STEALING money from the homeowners under threat of the city taking their homes away from them.\
I DEFY you to list all the streets that are getting completely repaved.
And YOU in a park? ROFL. I'd like to see a photo of you feeding the kids lunch in one of the parks in the summer, then ask their parents how life is in the city under the tax burden they haave. Ask the parents what it's like to live among boarded up homes, live among blight, live in fear of their home being burned because a neighboring house is empty and bums go in their to sleep and start fires to keep warm with.
You have no clue what life is like for people who have to actually work, actually pay rent or mortgage & taxes, actually pay repair costs, actually support themselves and their families.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
2nd - parks and other city properties need to be maintained .. you folks wouldn't understand the concept of being good stewards and maintaining our communities infrastructure --- which includes parks.

No we don't. We are far from a "perfect" system, if one even exists, but we hardly live in the libertarian, corporative feudal system that you seem to be proposing.

After all the biggest criticism of Saudi schools are that they don't teach marketable skills and are steeped in religion--of course even the Saudi government is aiming to try to lessen that since they believe that it has played a large role in the creation of Islamic terrorists, but whatever, if they have the most money it's ok by you.

Silly...The parents pay...Just like little league and pop warner. Have you been to Great Escape? There is this crazy thing called a "season pass", and you pay for a pass to go to the park all year. You show your pass, and you get in to ride on all the rides. It's a wild concept. Maybe Great Escape should be funded through the government too? You know, for the kids of course.
