The status quo in the city MUST BE STOPPED.

The city has many negatives and they must be acknowledged and addressed.   No ore ignoring them.   No more looking at the city through rose colored glasses.   No more sweeping the negatives under the rug

The city is in massive failure due to the wild uncontrolled spending of the city/co/plex leadership.   Poverty is high.  Unemployment is high.  The leaders are creating all low paying jobs.

Downtown has a pretty appearance exclusively at the expense of the financially struggling households while homeowners are being charged with building code violations on their own homes because they have no money after they are paying for all the fancy new buildings for the rich developers downtown.

Spending on downtown is causing massive failure
City's tax base is massively falling
That causes taxes on the homeowners to increase
And that causes property values to fall
And that causes home sales and home sale prices to fall
And that causes no one to buy houses in the city
And that causes bank foreclosures which cause zombie houses which causes the city to have to spend more.
And that causes higher taxes
And that causes more tax foreclosures
And that causes higher expenses to the city which has to maintain these properties
And that causes higher taxes
And that causes property values to fall
And that causes more people to flee the city
And that causes more abandoned house and boarded up houses
And that causes more blight
And that causes taxes to go higher
And that causes more houses to be put up for sale
And hat causes taxes to go higher
And that causes more reduction in ESSENTIAL services to the TAXPAYERS in their NIEHGOBRHOODS
And that causes more people to leave
And that causes home values to fall more

And it never ends

And cheerleaders just ignore the city and only see downtown and praise increase in taxes on the homeowners and think that causing massive problems in the neighborhoods is something to be ignored, it's negative and must never be talked about.

Just keep lavishing the praise on the city leaders giving all their attention and all the taxpayers' money to downtown and to hell with the neighborhoods and the people.   Home values falling, Shhhh, don't talk about it, its being negative, lets cheer for another taxpayer funded gin mill because that is wonderful.

Schenectady is THE LOWEST RATED in the capital region.   And ranks 814 out of a possible 861.   Low incomes, empty houses, few good jobs, etc, thanks to the current leadership.

Wake up people, stop ignoring the negative, stop pretending these negatives don't exist, stop looking at the city through rose colored classes.

Say the words "the city has lots of negatives and instead of ignoring them, we will start ignoring downtown, let the rich take care of downtown but demand the rich pay the homeowners back for all the money the taxpayers have paid."

Quoted Text

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
